It’s been a whirlwind for Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo since welcoming their son Ziggy in December. Just 11 weeks after giving birth, Sophie joined her husband on the BAFTAs red carpet in February.

And filming for their new Disney reality show, Raising Chelsea – which promises to be a “no-holds-barred whirlwind journey of the next chapter” – continued right after the couple welcomed their little boy.

But away from the cameras, insiders said the pressure of filming has “taken a toll” on the pair – particularly Sophie, who ‘has been forced to be camera-ready so soon’ – leaving their family worried.

A source told The Sun : “Sophie and Jamie actually had a really difficult time filming. They didn’t really expect it to be as much pressure as it was, and part of them wishes they had never agreed to do it. It’s never easy for first-time parents, and the added stress of being filmed was much harder than they ever thought. It’s not like filming Made in Chelsea.”

Insiders say their families were “concerned” about the amount of work they’d taken on, especially for Sophie, “who has been forced to be camera-ready so soon.” But while it’s “taken a toll”, the couple is pleased with the final outcome of the show. The Mirror has reached out to Jamie and Sophie for comment.

Earlier this month, they took to Instagram to show fans a teaser trailer for the upcoming show. Jamie captioned the clip: “Ready to meet our newest family member….? Raising Chelsea, coming soon to Disney+”

In December, angry mum influencers slammed Jamie for setting ‘unrealistic expectations’ on new mothers after he praised his ‘superwoman’ wife for ‘creating a magical Christmas’ three weeks after giving birth.

Jamie posted a video on his Instagram showing Sophie snuggled up to their baby before putting applying the finishing touches to their dining room table. He wrote: “POV: your wife is 3 weeks postpartum and still creates a magical Christmas.”

While some followers praised the Made in Chelsea star for celebrating his wife, one commented: “This is lovely but also let’s not normalise post partum women being ‘superwoman’ it’s not normal.”

Another added: “I normally love your content, but this is an insensitive post and sets an unrealistic expectation/pressure on other new mothers. Not everyone has the money, resources and support to be able to do this.”

Another questioned whether the couple had had outside help over the festive season. They added: “Good she is recovering but be honest with your posts. You’ve paid someone to do this and got a chef in to do everything.

“If you had a caterer (family members) helping please say so. Not detracting but keep it real for those not able to get near this. Life not a competition but it can feel like it is. Wishing you all health and happiness on your journey with Ziggy”.

After welcoming their first child, the couple checked into the ‘UK’s leading postpartum wellness retreat’. Jamie, 36, and Sophie, 31, kept fans up to date throughout her pregnancy and the busy pair even moved into a stunning £12million home ahead of the baby’s arrival as they prepared for life as a family of three. They announced they were expecting back in June in a sweet Instagram post.
