Made In Chelsea stars, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, welcomed their baby boy, Ziggy – who was born in the private wing of St Mary’s hospital – earlier this month
Jamie Laing has shared some adorable snaps of his new baby son after facing backlash following his comments about his wife’s maternity ward.
Sophie Habboo, 31, and her former Made In Chelsea co-star, 37, became proud parents to son, Ziggy, who was born in the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, earlier this month. However, after welcoming the tot, Jamie complained on TikTok that his bed at the £6,000 a night wing – where Kate Middleton gave birth to all three of her children – was ‘uncomfortable’, prompting ‘tone deaf’ comments from some of his followers.
Following the backlash, the reality star has jumped on social media again, however, this time Jamie’s posted sweet snaps of little Ziggy and Sophie as the family of three get ready for their first Christmas together.

In one photo, Jamie and baby Ziggy can be seen wearing matching pyjamas as new mum, Sophie, hugs them in front of their lavishly-adorned Christmas tree. In another shot, Sophie, sporting a T-shirt and socks, looks down adoringly at her bundle of joy in the bathroom of the family’s new home, which is rumoured to be worth £12 million after 14-month renovation.
Captioning the carousel of photos, which also includes one of Jamie holding his sleeping son on the sofa and another of him pushing his buggy through London, Jamie wrote: “This Christmas is lit @sophiehabboo.”
It comes after the reality star was criticised by fans for complaining about Sophie’s maternity suite, with some branding Jamie out of touch. As part of the pricey package at the Lindo Wing, Jamie was able to sleep in his own single bed to be close to his wife and newborn son.
However, he jokingly posted a picture of himself holding his back in pain, claiming to have had an uncomfortable sleep after the tot was born.
Taking to TikTok, updating his followers on proceedings, with a photo of his temporary bed, he posted: “Note to self: Don’t limp, hold your back or complain just after your wife has given birth because your bed was uncomfortable.”
While many understood his attempt at a joke, Jamie’s post seemed to prompt a few of his followers to call out his lack of awareness. One person shared: “My partner had to sleep on the floor because they only gave us a small plastic chair.” Meanwhile, another declared: “Omg you got a bed! You should see the chairs at the poor people’s hospitals lol.”
Jamie and Sophie announced the arrival of their first child via Instagram by sharing a series of pictures from the birth. The podcast and radio presenter captioned the post saying: “Ziggy, you have our whole hearts.”
