Jim Carrey’s fans were stunned by his new appearance. The Hollywood icon, 64, took to the red carpet at the 51st César Awards as he was honoured for his successful career.
But fans weren’t focussing on his win as they rushed to social media to discuss his new look. He turned up at the Paris event on Thursday in a sharp all-black suit.
Within moments of his appearance, fans were quick to question if he had had any cosmetic procedures. Some bluntly asked if he had gone under the knife following his fresh new look.
On Twitter/X, one user said: “‘Must have had a lot of work done to his face. Looks very different.” Another added: “‘Is he wearing a mask? Look at his neck,” while a third joked: “‘I’m no conspiracy theorist, but that’s not Jim Carrey.”

During the ceremony, Jim paid an emotional tribute to his late dad. The Ace Ventura star was presented with an Honorary César celebrating his decades-long career. A clip of his speech circulated online, and he is heard saying: “I wanted to recognise my dad.
“I mean, my dad was the type of person that if you met him for five minutes, you felt like you knew him for 50 years.”
Fans also praised his touching words. He was joined at the ceremony by his daughter Jane, 38, her teenage son Jackson, and his partner Min Ah.
Jim paid tribute to those members of his family too in his speech, which he delivered entirely in French. The translation stated: “Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson.
“I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah,’ he said. ‘I love you, Min Ah.’
It is still unclear as to how long Jim and Min Ah have been an item. In February 2022, Just Jared identified her as Minzi, a Los Angeles-area actress and artist.
At the time, the outlet published photos of her and the actor leaving a charity comedy show that had been hosted by Judd Apatow at Largo in L.A.
When he first took to the stage at this week’s ceremony, Jim said: “About three hundred years ago, my great-great-great-great-grandfather, Marc François Carrey, left Saint-Malo in France for Canada.
‘Tonight, with this magnificent honour, this “square” has come full circle. Perhaps this is what my family was looking for.”
