Former MasterChef host John Torode and his wife, actress Lisa Faulkner, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary with a sweet message from the celebrity chef to his wife

Former MasterChef presenter John Torode marked a special wedding milestone with his wife, Lisa Faulkner, on social media, sharing a touching tribute to commemorate their anniversary.

The celebrity chef, 60, and his actress spouse, 53, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary, having exchanged vows back in October 2019. Posting a photograph from the pair’s big day, which took place at Aynhoe Park in Banbury, John penned an emotional message to his partner, describing her as his “rock” and his “best friend”. The snapshot captured the chef and the EastEnders actress positioned above their extravagant wedding cake, raising their arms triumphantly as they sliced into the confection.

John sported an elegant black suit paired with a crisp white shirt and dark-toned tie, whilst Lisa donned an understated white bridal dress featuring delicate lace details around the neckline and shoulder straps.

Both Lisa and John displayed beaming grins as they gestured to their wedding guests from the top table where they were seated. The table featured a pristine white tablecloth and an array of colourful illuminated candles.

Accompanying the charming photograph, John composed a message stating: “Happy Anniversary my love, my rock, my best friend. I am honoured to be your husband @lisafaulknercooks, honoured! I love you so much,” concluding with a red love heart emoji.

Supporters and admirers flocked to the comments section to share their congratulations with the couple, whilst Lisa responded to John’s words with her own message declaring: “Happy anniversary my John. You make me smile every day. And I love you with all of my heart. You make me smile every day. And I love you with all of my heart.”

John responded with a heartfelt message, typing: “I feel so blessed,” and added a love heart emoji next to his words. Several celebrities took the time to congratulate the couple, with TV presenter Ruth Langsford commenting: “Happy Anniversary love birds!”

While reality star Vicky Pattinson wrote: “Happy anniversary, my loves”. Fans also joined in, leaving messages such as: “You both look so happy. Congratulations, it’s been a difficult year for you both, but you’ve come through it. Keep cooking”, and: “Happy anniversary, hope you both have a special day”.

John and Lisa tied the knot four years after they first started dating on 24 October 2019. They invited their closest friends and family to a ceremony held at a beautiful country estate in Northamptonshire. The wedding celebrations spanned two days, with the couple hosting a pre-wedding dinner the night before their big day.

Among the guests watching their friends say ‘I do’ were famous faces from the worlds of cooking and acting. Attendees included Waterloo Road star Angela Griffin, Emmerdale actress Nicola Stephenson, MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace and Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden.

The couple have previously opened up about how their love story began, with Lisa telling HELLO! : “I’ve always thought he was handsome. “Happy anniversary my John. You make me smile every day. And I love you with all of my heart.”

“He’s a good-looking bloke, but you can appreciate someone’s attractiveness without thinking, ‘Blimey’ It was only later when we started chatting that we became pals. I adore his company. We’re always nattering – non-stop chatter. He’s like my best mate.”

A challenging year for John and Lisa Their most recent wedding anniversary followed John’s departure from MasterChef, the BBC culinary programme he co-hosted with Gregg Wallace for nearly two decades.

The news that John’s contract with the long-standing series would not be renewed emerged earlier this summer, after an allegation of him using “an extremely offensive racist term” was upheld, as per the BBC. John claimed he has “no recollection” of it in an Instagram post he shared in July.

Reacting to his departure, John clarified at the time: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay, I am seeing and reading that I’ve been ‘sacked’ from MasterChef. I reiterate that I have no memory of what I’m accused of. The enquiry couldn’t even specify the date or year of when I am alleged to have said something inappropriate.”

“Personally, I have relished every moment working on MasterChef, but it’s time to hand over the utensils to someone else.”
