Coming home is always special for Julian Champagnie because of the reminder it provides.
It brings back memories of how far he has come, from an unranked prospect coming out of Bishop Loughlin High School and going undrafted despite a sterling three-year career at St. John’s.
This year that is the case, more than most, due to his breakout season for one of the NBA’s top teams.
“I always try to walk with that chip on my shoulder, knowing that I didn’t get picked and you can still make s–t work,” the 24-year-old sharpshooting wing from Brooklyn told The Post on Saturday after practice at Nike headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
