‘Kaattaan’ OTT Release, When And Where To Watch The Series, Starring Vijay Sethupathi?

Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most talented actors who has worked predominantly in Tamil films. Over the years, he received several accolades, including a National Film Award, two Filmfare Awards South and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards. Recently, he grabbed a lot of attention for the silent drama, Gandhi Talks, co-starring Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Mahesh Manjrekar. According to multiple reports, Vijay is all set to appear in a key role in the upcoming series, Kaattaan.

Kaattaan is a gripping tale of a man who has different personalities, and the audience will see his different sides through the eyes of the storyteller. Sometimes the man is a legend, sometimes he is a monster, and sometimes he is a miracle. Directed by Manikandan, the series is gearing up for its digital premiere. According to the latest reports, Kaattaan is releasing on February 14, 2026, on Jio Hotstar.

What to expect in the series, Kaattaan?

Kaattaan is a rural action drama series starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. Alongside Vijay, the series also stars Milind Soman. The story of Kaattan revolves around a man. However, his story is being told by the people around him. As the story progresses, the storyteller reveals different truths, versions and scars related to the man’s life. Depending upon who is telling the story, the man becomes a legend, a monster and a miracle.

Vijay Sethupathi is not only the lead actor of the series, Kaattaan. He has also produced the series. During the JioHotstar South Unbound event on December 9, 2025, Vijay spoke about the series. He shared that the series was written by Manikandan, and he directed the show along with Ajith. Vijay mentioned that Kaattaan is all about the philosophy of life. He added that for Manikandan, Kaattaan is the first action series he had not made any action films earlier. He also shared his feelings after reading the script of the series. He was quoted as saying:

“It is written by my friend Manikandan who has directed the show along with one called Ajith from Kerala. The series is about philosophy of life, and searching its purpose. It is a beautiful experience. He wrote six pages and gave it to me first. I felt healed when I read it.”

During the same event, the makers shared a teaser featuring Vijay. In the teaser, Vijay was seen in an intense avatar. The teaser kicks off with a rural festival background, but soon it gets disrupted when Vijay’s character enters the scene. He throws a stone at the crowd, creating chaos. He was wearing a traditional lungi and shirt. He was carrying a sickle. However, when another approached him, he held the sickle near his neck and said, “Shivettan sent me.”
