Recent polling indicates that Vice President Kamala Harris has gained a lead over her Republican rival, Donald Trump, in several critical battleground states, including MichiganPennsylvania, and Georgia.
According to a poll from UMass Lowell’s Center for Public Opinion, Harris holds a slight advantage in Michigan, where she is favored by 48% of respondents compared to Trump’s 43%. Political science expert Rodrigo Castro Cornejo noted that this margin is promising for Harris’s campaign in such a pivotal swing state. He emphasized that Trump faces challenges due to his negative favorability ratings in Michigan.
In Pennsylvania, Harris also leads with 48% against Trump’s 46%. Cornejo remarked that the race remains competitive, making the coming weeks crucial for both candidates as they ramp up their get-out-the-vote efforts.
However, the landscape is mixed; while Harris leads in Michigan and Pennsylvania, a Fox News poll shows Trump ahead in Arizona with 51% to Harris’s 48%. In Georgia, Harris has a narrow lead at 51% compared to Trump’s 48%.
Overall, the race is tight across these battleground states. Nationally, Trump trails Harris by two percentage points, but in these critical regions, the margins are razor-thin. As both campaigns prepare for the upcoming election, strategies to mobilize supporters will be vital in this highly contested environment.
