Kate Garraway may have found the perfect alternative to a dress for spring occasions with her tailored blue suit on Good Morning Britain that’s still available in sizes eight to 20

Spring is the time of year when events start to ramp up, but if you’re not one for wearing a dress, a tailored trouser suit can be a great alternative. Picking one in a bright, bold colour makes it more playful and festive, and you can wear it for everything from weddings and parties to work events and dinner dates.

Recently Kate Garraway nailed the co-ordinated look with her bright blue blazer and trousers which she wore to host Good Morning Britain, and we managed to track down exactly where her suit is from. Both pieces hail from Very, with the Belt Cinched Blazer priced at £55, and the Vented Split Straight Leg Trousers just £35 – but you can currently save 20% when you use the code HELLOAPRIL at checkout.

Both pieces can be bought separately and are available in sizes eight to 20, with Very suggesting to order your usual size. The suit looks great worn together, or you could just as easily mix and match it with the rest of your wardrobe to create multiple different looks for different occasions.

Kate’s Belt Cinched Blazer has a classic notched lapel neckline with two welted side pockets and fastens at the waist with a buttoned belt. This not only helps accentuate your figure, but makes the blazer a little more modern and interesting than a standard jacket.

Meanwhile the Vented Split Straight Leg Trousers have a high rise which gives you extra coverage and helps elongate your legs, with handy belt loops around the waistband if you want to accessorise. The front fastening is fully concealed, with seam details down the front to give it that smart, tailored look, and subtle splits at the ankle so you can wear everything from knee high boots to ballet flats with them.

The high street is also delivering some brilliantly bold suits and co-ords at the moment if Kate’s bright teal shade isn’t for you. At Boden, the Woodbridge Linen Blazer (£219) and the matching Kensington Linen Trousers (£139) come in pale pink with emerald green strips for a playful, colourful wardrobe staple that works everywhere from the office to holidays.
