The Princess of Wales arrived at the BAFTAs in London with her husband, Prince William, this afternoon – and she debuted her longest hair yet, styling it in soft, cascading curls

Kate Middleton’s hair looked amazing as she arrived at the BAFTAs with Prince William this afternoon.

The Princess of Wales, 44, donned a pink Gucci gown she had previously worn in 2019 to the 100 Women in Finance dinner gala, while the Prince of Wales wore a white shirt paired with black trousers, a purple velvet jacket and a black bow tie. At the event, Kate debuted her longest hair yet, styling it in soft, cascading curls.

The hairstyle represented a change from Kate’s usual polished blow-dry. The princess has been attending regular engagements this year, as she continues to return to her duties after taking several months off in 2024 while undergoing cancer treatment.

Back in September 2025, Kate debuted new blonder locks during a visit to London’s Natural History Museum. Now, fast-forward a few months, it seems that her hair has never looked better.

Award-winning hairdresser Adem Oygur, of Adem London, previously explained to us how to achieve Kate’s princess curls. He said, “Kate Middleton’s signature bouncy curls are a masterclass in classic, high-gloss glamour with a modern edge. Recreating this look requires a focus on structure, volume, and long-lasting movement and it’s all built on healthy, well-prepped hair.”

Explaining the process, Adem said using a volumising shampoo and lightweight conditioner that doesn’t weigh the hair down is key to prepping the hair for curls. “Towel-dry gently and apply a root-lifting spray or mousse – something like a heat-activated volumiser works best for fine to medium textures,” he said. “Distribute it evenly using a wide-tooth comb to ensure lift without stiffness.”

Adem added, “Keep each curl uniform in direction for a cohesive wave pattern. Wrap each section around the tong and hold for approximately 8–10 seconds, then immediately pin it in place to cool. This step is critical—cooling the curls in shape helps ‘memorise’ the curl pattern for longer-lasting hold and bounce.”

While at the BAFTAs at the Royal Festival Hall by the South Bank in London today, William, said he needs to be in a “calm state” to watch Hamnet as he added: “I’m not at the moment.” The heir to the throne, who is president of the arts charity, and his wife Catherine made their first joint public appearance since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest.

The royal couple chatted to representatives from Bafta and the Southbank Centre before taking their seats in the star-studded auditorium for the awards ceremony. William told Elaine Bedell, chief executive of the Southbank Centre, and Allison Kirkby, chief executive of BT Group, that he had yet to see Hamnet.

“I need to be in quite a calm state and I’m not at the moment,” he said. “I will save it.” The big-screen adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s award-winning novel is about the family life of William Shakespeare and the death of his young son.

Kate said she saw the highly nominated film on Saturday. Chatting with the chairwoman of Bafta’s film committee, Emily Stillman, and executive director of the charity’s awards and content, Emma Baehr, the princess said: “Yes, I think it was a very bad idea actually… ended up with very puffy eyes.”
