Soap stars Katie McGlynn and Max Bowen were seen sharing a very passionate kiss over the weekend as they continue to tour the country together. However, the steamy photos are said to have come as a blow to Katie’s ex Ricky Rayment following their recent split.
Katie, 32, and Max, 30, have been co-starring in their play Murder at Midnight and have been seen getting close. They have been spotted hand in hand on a pub outing and over the weekend they shared an intimate kiss in the street.
Katie is best known for her role as Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street, and Max is famed for his portrayal of Ben Mitchell in EastEnders. The actress split from TOWIE star Ricky, 35, in July as they vowed to remain friends.

However, the kiss has been hard for Ricky to witness. “Ricky still cares about Katie and wants her to be happy, but of course, seeing the pictures of her kissing Max were a blow to him,” a source told the Sun.
“Nobody would like seeing their ex looking so loved up so soon after splitting up, so it’s not been easy for him, but there is no bad blood between them. He wishes her the best, he would just rather not have seen those snaps while things are still pretty raw for him.”
Katie and Ricky split after two years together and even wiped all traces of each other off social media. The news came a year after they had sparked engagement rumours after Katie was seen with a diamond ring on her finger, on Valentine’s Day.
At the time, a source said: “Katie and Ricky have ended their romance, they’re still friends and want to remain civil but in terms of a romantic relationship, it’s definitely over.”
Speaking to the MailOnline, they added: “It was difficult at times for them dating even though they lived miles apart from each other but ultimately it just wasn’t meant to be.” But despite speculation about getting engaged, Katie shut this down during their first interview together last year.
Speaking to the Mirror and OK! Magazine, Katie said: “I’ve never thought about a proposal before; it’s not something I’ve dreamed about like other girls. But we are very happy – the happiest – and Ricky is very romantic. I know that he would pull out all the stops.”
Actor Max is no stranger to dating his co-stars, having previously been linked with EastEnders’ Shona McGarty and Danielle Harold. His most recent relationship was with actress and director Tori Allen-Martin, which ended after six months.
“They were in the soap world for so long where everyone knows each other,” a source said of Katie and Max. They added to The Sun : “They’ve got loads in common and both have found themselves single at the same time as doing the tour.
“They get on well and have been spending time together – it’s clear they’ve got chemistry. Who knows what the future holds?”
