Katie Price’s nearest and dearest are said to be worried that she could hand over money to her new husband, Lee Andrews, following their whirlwind wedding after knowing one another for days
Katie Price’s family are worried she may hand cash over to her new husband. The former glamour model shocked fans at the end of last month after revealing she’d married a man she’d known for a matter of days.
Price, 47, flew to Dubai to meet self-proclaimed businessman Lee Andrews after striking up a bond on social media. But since their marriage, concerns have arisen over the logistics of her marriage, with Mr Andrews residing in Dubai, while Katie lives in the UK.
But while Katie has built her life back up, thanks to her adult-only subscription site work and various TV shows following two bankruptcies, those close to her allegedly worry about her new husband.
Katie, herself, has since hit back at concerns, telling fans: “I’m a grown a**e woman,” as she left the UK in order to return to her new husband in Dubai. “They’re all so worried that Katie is paying for everything or being tricked or talked into handing over money to him,” a source said.
They added to The Sun: “He says he’s a millionaire, but it’s not clear if he actually has any money or how he makes it. Katie’s only just earning money again after the bankruptcy, so they’re all scared what will happen while she’s in Dubai.”
Speaking on her social media as she addressed the ongoing concern, Katie said: “I bet everyone’s thinking what’s going on in the Katie Price world. Well you guys tell me because I’m reading it as it unfolds, just like you guys.
“I’m fully aware like everyone else, I see stuff, I get sent stuff. What I want everyone to know is, I’m a grown a**e woman. I’m 48 this year, I’m not a young kid. I’ve learned a lot in the past few years, through therapy and learning to love myself.” She went on to add that she was happy, which is “all that matters”, before saying she is not worried, so other people don’t need to be worried.
The concern comes after the Mirror revealed this month that weeks before Lee got down on one knee to Katie, he had been holed up in a Dubai prison and begging for cash, despite his self-proclaimed billionaire status.
We also unravelled the web of lies and wild claims the Dubai businessman has made about his career. Mr Andrews has made a string of claims about his life on social media, including jobs that he allegedly held at some major institutions across Britain.
His LinkedIn page lists a string of careers, including founding Aura Sustainable Vehicles & Energy BVI and Blue Diamond Group, and his appointment to the Abu Dhabi Prestige Office. One claim on his LinkedIn page is that he is a Member Of The Board of Advisors for the Labour Party.
He claims to have held this role since May 2015, with his role reportedly involving being an “Associate member & supporter of His Majesty’s Government,” as well as being a Labour Party board member (not seated) in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire.
However, Lee Andrews is not a member of the Labour Party team. A Labour source told us: “We don’t have a ‘Board of Advisors’ and this individual doesn’t work with us.”
And while Mr Andrews claims to have been in the position and a supporter of the Labour party government since 2015, the party in office at the time was the Conservatives, with Lord David Cameron serving as the Prime Minister. When approached for comment by the Mirror, Mr Andrews said: “Supporter is the word your after [sic].”
Lee also claims to be the Director of Philanthropy at The King’s Trust (formerly The Prince’s Trust) – a role he alleges he’s held since April 2018. On his LinkedIn, he claims to be the Scottish house ambassador, by royal appointment, for development around sustainability and the environment. However, the Mirror has been informed that this role is not held by Lee. In fact, they have no volunteers with this title, and there is no record of Lee or Weslee Andrews with the Trust.
The Mirror approached Katie’s spokesperson, who declined to comment, and Lee directly for comment, but he didn’t respond.
