Katie Price’s children, Junior and Princess Andre, do not talk about her new marriage to Lee Andrews, ex-husband Alex Reid has claimed. The former glamour model’s second husband says that Junior and Princess were “surprised” by her whirlwind romance.
Katie shocked the world in January by revealing she was engaged to Dubai-based businessman Lee, just weeks after she confirmed her split from JJ Slater. Only days after her engagement was announced, she and Lee were married. The two have been sharing a lot of their relationship on social media, but her children reportedly do not want to be as open about it.

Talking to the Mirror, Alex shared that he felt Katie had married Lee for “another headline” and that there was a “sadness” about that, as it affected her children. He said: “Katie likes new and flashy. And it’s also another headline. It doesn’t matter. This is the sadness. The expanse of the people around her. Her family. Her loved ones. Her children.”
His manager, Lee Stafford, then revealed that he had been in contact with Peter Andre, Katie’s first husband, who said that he didn’t talk about Katie’s latest marriage with their children.
“I spoke to Peter recently and asked him how Princess and Junior are handling it,” Lee said. “He says they don’t talk about it. What do you say? What do you say to your kids when it’s someone that nobody knows?”
He added: “I mean, you know, it’s kind of taken everyone a bit by surprise. In a way of, she’s gone to this extreme. Not that I’m surprised she got married or found someone. But she’s gone to an extreme in doing this.”
Alex was married to Katie for 11 months between 2010 and 2011. He and Katie got together within a few months of her divorce from Peter. Like Lee’s marriage to Katie, Alex’s could be called a ‘whirwind romance’. “I’ve learned a lot since then,” he said. “And what I really want is a connection and intimacy. I definitely grew from those experiences, but I didn’t get that with Katie.”
Alex told the Mirror that he felt “intoxicated with the celebrity and the whole situation” during his time with Katie. He added that Lee probably felt the same way. “I imagine Lee Andrews is intoxicated,” Alex said.
He also said he feared their marriage was less about love and instead a “business transaction”. Alex said: “If it is a business transaction, they both have their eyes open.”
Alex went on: “He [Lee] has gone into this with his eyes open, but he doesn’t really know, he doesn’t understand. He thinks he can control the media, and also someone called Katie Price.”
Alex’s comments come as Katie hit out at what she called “snakes” in a Valentine’s Day message to her new man. Writing on her Instagram Stories, Katie – who shared a clip Lee had posted of her with a dog – said: “@Wesleeeandrews has given me more security more respect and proven that everything that’s been said about him has been absolute BS by bitter people and snakes in all areas.”
