After months of speculation Katy Perry publicly confirmed that she was in a relationship with Canadian politician Justin Tredeau while celebrating her birthday
Since her split from Orlando Bloom in July, many believed Katy Perry had moved on after being spotted out and about in Canada with politician Justin Trudeau. But at the time, the pair remained tight-lipped about the status of their relationship – until now.
Katy and Justine have finally publicly confirmed that they are in a relationship as they were spotted holding hands while leaving the Crazy Horse venue in Paris.
The pair were out celebrating her 41st birthday in the French capital when they were spotted by fans and waiting photographers.
With her hair slicked back into a tight bun, Katy cut an elegant look as she wore a fitted red dress. Meanwhile Justin looked sophisticated in a dark coloured suit.
Katy was pictured accepting roses from a fan as Justin looked on smiling for the cameras. As they made their way out of the iconic venue, they quickly stepped into a waiting car.
Katy’s public confirmation comes days after a source reportedly told US Weekly that Katy was “really into” Justin as they seemed to have formed a strong bond.
The source told the publication at the time: “Katy is really into it. She’s very happy. She’s trying to keep it low-key, and they’ve spent a lot of private time together. She’s not looking to publicize this relationship.
They added: “Their friends think they are a good match, but he actually hasn’t met a lot of her friends yet.”
The pair first sparked rumours of a romance when they were spotted looking cosy while out for dinner in Montreal, Canada after one of her concerts.
In July this year it was officially confirmed that Katy and Orlando had split after a joint statement was released, which was two months after they were last seen together in public as a couple.
The pair share a five year old daughter together named Daisy Dove.
The statement read: “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The pair first started dating back in 2016 but their romance has witnessed its fair share of ups and downs as they split a year later. But in 2018 Katy and Orlando reunited and things appeared to move on incredibly fast as by 2019 they announced their engagement and the following year, welcomed their daughter.
It seemed the writing was perhaps on the wall as the announcement of their split was released after the Pirates of the Carribbean actor shared a cryptic post about loneliness.
One quote that was shared read: “loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
