For the uninitiated, on March 5, 2026, Vijay Thalapathy graced a wedding reception of Kalpathy Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh’s son, along with actress, Trisha Krishnan.

In a recent interview with IANS, actress and politician, Khushbu Sundar, reacted to the following. She mentioned that people have been creating a huge fuss over something that is entirely a personal matter. She backed Trisha and Vijay amid the divorce row and added that it’s their personal life and people should stay out of it. Khushbu was quoted as saying:

“I don’t understand what people have to do with this incident. It is their personal life. If their personal life affects people, we can talk about it. Their personal life has nothing to do with people. Why are people making it a big deal? They will see their own life. People are not affected in any way. I don’t think it will affect anyone’s personal life. He is a human being. Whether he is a leader or not. He is a common man like us. He has nothing to do with people’s personal life.”

Recently, the Jana Nayagan actor was seen attending a Women’s Meet. During the event, the actor-turned-politician finally broke his silence on the ongoing divorce drama. Addressing the crowd, Vijay assured them that he would take care of himself and his family. He told them not to worry about the recent problems that he had been facing. He also expressed his feelings regarding the following matter. He was quoted as saying:

“Don’t worry about the recent problems surrounding me. Those issues are not worth your time. I will take care of them and myself. What hurts me the most is seeing you feel sad or stressed because of my problems.”

Vijay Thalapathy was reportedly born on June 22, 1974. Currently, the Jana Nayagan actor is 51. On the other hand, Trisha Krishnan was reportedly born on May 4, 1983. She is currently 42. If the reports are believed to be true, then the duo shares an age gap of 9 years.

Vijay Thalapathy and Sangeetha Sornalingam divorce row

On February 27, 2026, the news of Vijay Thalapathy and his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam’s separation made headlines. According to a report by The Indian Express, the star wife has filed for divorce from Vijay at the Chengalpattu Family Court. Her petition was filed under Section (1)(a), (b), (d) and Sections 36 & 37 of the Special Marriage Act, 1954. In the divorce plea, Sangeetha mentioned Vijay’s extramarital affair with an actress. 

As per the legal documents, Sangeetha discovered about her husband’s extramarital affair in 2021. The divorce petition mentioned that Vijay Thalapathy kept travelling abroad with the actress with whom he had an affair. The petition can be read as:

“The respondent continued travelling abroad and attending public events with the said actress. The actress regularly posted photographs of these outings on social media. The respondent neither denied nor objected to these posts, thereby tacitly endorsing them. These posts widely circulated, causing repeated humiliation to the petitioner and the children.”
