Kim Kardashian has no clue what this popular British food choice is. The 45-year-old reality television personality appeared utterly baffled when questioned about the very popular jacket potato during a radio chat that had her co-star, Sarah Paulson, 50, in absolute hysterics.
The hilarious moment unfolded on Capital Radio, where the duo were being grilled by internet sensation Margie, famously known as Grime Gran, during promotional duties for their upcoming Hulu legal drama All’s Fair.
Grime Gran, an 89-year-old presenter from East London who shot to fame through her conversations with grime musicians, put Kim on the spot about her thoughts on a British favourite – the baked potato, referred to in the UK as a “jacket potato”.
What ensued was a brilliant display of complete cultural bewilderment. “And you’re a big fan of jacket potato ain’t ya?” Grime Gran enquired.
Sarah instantly erupted into laughter whilst Kim appeared utterly perplexed, responding: “Who?” Grime Gran reiterated her enquiry: “Do you like a jacket potato?”
“What is that?” Kim questioned, looking thoroughly puzzled. Sarah chimed in: “I really want to know if you like a jacket potato.” Kim pressed on: “I don’t know what that is,” causing Sarah to confess: “I don’t know what a jacket potato is.”
Completely taken aback, Grime Gran exclaimed: “You don’t know what a jacket potato is?” Sarah enquired once more: “What is a jacket potato?” prompting Grime Gran to clarify: “It’s potato cooked in the skin.” Kim responded with obvious relief: “Oh I love that, yeah.”
Grime Gran kept the discussion flowing, asking: “What’s your filling?” Sarah turned to Kim, prompting her to elaborate. Kim said: “Sour cream and butter… and bacon bits.” Grime Gran replied approvingly: “Oh, sour cream and butter. Oh lovely. You’re making me feel hungry.”
The amusing moment quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans entertained by the cultural mix-up between the Hollywood mogul and the East London presenter.
