Kristen Bell was accused of making light of domestic violence after sharing a ‘sad and insensitive’ post on her anniversary to Dax Shepard. The Good Place actress, 45, and Dax, 50, celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary and Kristen took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to her man.
In the photo, Kristen was seen sitting on his lap while embracing him on their bed. He cradled her head as he hugged her back. She controversially wrote: “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me: ‘I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivized to kill you, I never would’.”
Fans were in shock over the caption and rushed to share their criticisms, with one pointing out she posted the tribute on Domestic Violence Awareness month.

“Kristen there’s no way you posted this during domestic violence awareness month,” one said and another pointed out: “That’s….a very weird thing to say.”
One user commented: “s femicide not a thing in the US? Here in the Netherlands a woman is killed by her (ex)partner every 8 days. So to post this and call it sweet or a joke is wild to me.”
Another posted: “Thats a wildly sad and insensitive thing to say considering it’s domestic violence awareness month and thousands of women have died a the hands of the man they trusted…”
Some congratulated the two, writing: “you guys are the best,” with another writing: “That’s the most romantic thing I’ve heard! Lol.”
Kristen and Dax married in 2013 and share two daughters together, Lincoln and Delta.
Earlier this year, after Kristen was nominated for an Emmy Award for her role in Nobody Wants This, Dax marked the occasion by posting a photo of his wife doing yoga in the nude to his millions of followers.
The Frozen star posed in a downward dog position as she lifted her leg high into the air, wearing nothing but a pair of knee-high blue socks. In the carefree snap, Kristen appeared to be doing a spot of yoga in their back garden as she was joined by their little dog.
Alongside the eye-catching photo, Dax teased: “People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s. This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”
