In recent months, there was a lot of speculation about iconic band Fleetwood Mac reuniting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of a fan-favourite album

Fleetwood Mac are reportedly in talks for a reunion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their hit album, Rumours. Over the summer, there was speculation of a reunion when Stevie Nicks and her ex-partner, Lindsey Buckingham, both shared lyrics from one of their songs on Instagram.

Stevie and Lindsey, who had a relationship in the 1970s, are said to have become estranged in recent years, following his most recent departure from the band in 2018. In July, Stevie posted: “And if you go forward …” and Lindsey finished the lyric, sharing: “I’ll meet you there.”

And now, it has been said the band could get back together for a huge celebration.

It would come after bandmate Christine McVie died in 2022 following a stroke. According to The Sun, Mick Fleetwood is at the centre of the plans and is leading talks between Stevie, Lindsey and John McVie.

It’s said a one-off TV special about the creation of Rumours is among the options for the 2027 milestone, with Warner Records preparing a special re-release of the record.

Meanwhile, when Stevie and Lindsey posted the lyrics on Instagram this summer, fans rushed to share their theories.

The lyrics, which appeared to be handwritten in their respective posts, are from the chorus of their song Frozen Love. It featured on their album Buckingham Nicks, which was released in 1973, prior to them joining Fleetwood Mac.

Neither of the posts included a caption, with many fans taking to the comments sections to question what they meant. One person asked: “OMG! What does it mean?” Another wrote in their response: “Confirm what’s going on pls.”

Others speculated that a reunion would happen. One wrote: “Right I think there’s going to be another reunion.”

Someone said: “Buckingham Nicks????? Is it??? Reunion??? Ahhhh.” Another wrote: “Come on let’s see you both together again!!!!”

The posts came right after their former bandmate Mick shared a video of himself listening to Frozen Love on Instagram.

Mick wrote in the caption of the post, which was shared jointly by Fleetwood Mac’s account: “Magic then, magic now.” After listening to the song, he said in the video: “Unbelievable.

The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey. The marriage of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did. It’s all in this song. It’s in the music that played on for so many years. It’s magic then. Magic now. What a thrill! What a thrill! Amen.”
