A hugely popular pop star has been forced to cancel their concert at the last-minute as they revealed they are suffering with ill health.
Leona Lewis issued a statement to share the news with fans, hours before she was due to perform at music venue Voltaire in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leona was due to perform her A Starry Night Christmas residency concert show, but has been forced to cancel the event just hours before it was due to go ahead.
A statement from The X Factor icon Leona, 40, read: “To my lovely fans, I’m heartbroken to share that I will not be able to perform tomorrow night’s show (Dec 20). I have been battling a sore throat for the past few days and while I tried pushing through tonight’s show, it has only left me feeling worse.”

The One More Sleep songstress continued: “I will be spending this time recovering and on vocal rest so I can come back stronger and give you all the show you deserve.
“This was not an easy decision and I’m truly so gutted to disappoint any of you who had plans to attend. Thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding. I’m so grateful for you all always showing up for me and love each of you so much.
“I’ll see you back under the stars very soon,” she penned before singing off her message with, “xx Leona.”
The star added in the caption: “If you had tickets to A Starry Night Dec 20th show – please reach out to info@voltairelv.com to arrange a refund or reschedule your tickets for a later show.”

“Feel better soon! We love you,” a third penned while another said: “You were absolutely incredible tonight. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you feel better soon. Thank you for the hug tonight.”
It comes after a few days after Leona opened up about her marriage to husband Dennis Jauch, who she shares three year old daughter Carmel with. Speaking about how she bonded with her husband, who won German TV series You Can Dance in 2007, she spilled: “I think we connected because we’d been through two very similar shows,” before she added: “Plus he saved me on stage.”
Leona joked how during one show of her Labyrinth Tour, her now-husband caught her after she nearly fell in a hole in the stage. “So I had to marry him,” she joked to People.
The couple wed in 2019. She added of their romance: “You can have these little disagreements and arguments and things, but at the end of the day, we always say this to each other: ‘Remember we’re on the same team.”
