Several Loose Women stars have stood up for Kaye Adams online after she was axed from her BBC Radio Scotland gig amid an investigation into allegations of misconduct
Several of Loose Women ‘s stars have issued words of support for Kaye Adams after she made a statement denying the allegations of misconduct against her. Amid an investigation into those claims, Kaye has already been axed from her BBC Radio Scotland show.
The investigation was looking into complaints of misconduct against Kaye, including allegedly swearing at a colleague, throwing a pen at a second and berating an intern.
In October, Kaye was initially suspended from the BBC while the investigation was ongoing, but has now parted with the broadcaster. Just days ago, she posted a statement to Instagram where she denied the allegations against her. She said: “I’m aware of malicious stories circulating about the reasons for my departure from BBC Scotland. I’ve been trying to keep a dignified silence but these attacks on my character are now so persistent, they can no longer go unchallenged.

“I categorically deny using a misogynistic slur 14 years ago and I’m horrified at its invention more than a decade later. It is absolutely not a word I would have used.
“As for ‘berating an intern’, this is simply untrue. Regarding the allegation that I threw a pencil while alone in an empty studio, words fail me. I am heartbroken that 15 years of hard work and dedication to BBC Scotland is being reduced to this. There’s really nothing more I can say apart from offer my heart-felt thanks to friends and colleagues – junior and senior – across the corporation who have sent their good wishes and support.”
Her co-workers from ITV daytime show Loose Women, Olivia Attwood, Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha, Katie Piper and Sunetra Sarker have all taken to Instagram with supportive messages.
Nadia, who is an original panellist alongside Kaye, told people to read the statement Kaye had issued. She shared a picture of her and Kaye to her Instagram stories and wrote over the top: “Kaye Adams and I have been friends for 26 years and I can 100% vouch for her. Please read her statement. Enough is enough.”
She later added: “Leave her alone. Kaye hold your head high. There are literally hundreds of people who know what a damn fine human being and professional you are.”
Olivia Attwood commented her support with heart emojis, and Stacey Solomon added: “One of the kindest women in telly. I love you Kaye.” Jane Moore also spoke about her three decade working relationship with Kaye: “I have worked with Kaye on and off for nearly 30 years and have only ever seen her be kind and supportive to junior staff.
“I also know that dozens of people who work/have worked with her wrote to BBC Scotland to express their support but it didn’t seem to make any difference to the outcome.”
Sunetra Sarker posted her own message of support. She wrote: “A remarkable, professional and kind colleague who is as fair as they come. Never one to udnermine or belittle, I am truly saddened that Kaye ahs had to face this difficult and unnecessary situation. She has my full support. I would pick Kaye to be in my team every time.”
Katie Piper commented on Sunetra’s post with heart emojis. Several non-Loose Women affiliated stars also shared their support in the comments. Carol Vorderman added: “Absolutely.” EastEnders actress Luisa Bradshaw-White said: “Kaye was SO good to me when I was a guest presenter. She had my back, she was really kind and really looked out for me. Standing beside you Kaye.”
Hear’Say’s Suzanne Shaw said: “I don’t know Kaye all that well but what I will say is she is one of the nicest, gracious, most welcoming presenters I have been interviewed by and worked with. Stop unnecessarily ruining innocent people’s lives. Kaye – I hope you know you are loved.”
