Lorna Luxe has spoken out for the first time after her late husband John Andrews’ funeral, just weeks after he died at home following a courageous battle with cancer
Lorna Luxe has spoken out after her husband John’s “beautiful” funeral. The social media star left fans heartbroken last month when she announced that John Andrews, who was 12 years her senior, had died.
John, 64, had battled stage four adrenal cancer after the disease returned in 2024, having initially been diagnosed in April 2023. The pair had been married for 16 years at the time of John’s death.
In the weeks after his death, Lorna maintained a low profile but has now taken to social media to speak about John’s funeral and how it connected her with people she hadn’t seen in some time. “I haven’t spoken to you in so long,” she said.

Lorna added: “I have been looking through my messages and I keep getting this consistent message from people saying they miss me and hope I’m alright. And I thought I miss you guys too – so here I am.
“We had John’s funeral yesterday and it was beautiful. It really was beautiful. People I’d not seen in a long time turned up. I knew we’d have a good turnout because people loved John. I was just really touched by that and it was a good day, it was good to chat about him and celebrate him. We had a humanist celebration. He would have loved, and it’s crazy to say it, that funeral.”
The influencer continued: “We had the funeral and then after we had all of his favourite foods on the buffet and his favourite wines. It was a proper send-off for a brilliant man. He was just a really generous, brilliant man.
“For the next week, I am going to focus on getting this charity sale happening, as we postponed it due to how poorly John was. He died within five days of what should have been that sale. It will be a lovely way to remember him. So that is what I will be working on and I think that is what I need at the minute. I need to be busy and doing things. I am going to see my mates and not stay at home too much.
“But I am really grateful for all the messages, so thank you to all of you for being exactly what I’ve needed, so thank you.” In the days leading up to John’s death, Lorna had planned an event in order to raise money for Maggie’s cancer charity, as well as The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
However, as John’s health declined, she apologised to fans and said she was unable to make the event as she was required to be by John’s side. Just days later, she confirmed that she was left heartbroken after he died while holding her hand.
Speaking on social media, Lorna said: “My beautiful, brave John died yesterday. I am heartbroken. We were together to the very end, at home, in our own bed and holding hands which is exactly what he wanted.
“The last conversation we had I asked him how he was feeling and he replied “rough but in love” and that was so him, to the point and choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved. John and I were so grateful to the district nurses who came daily to support us and make him comfortable.
“Anna was his favourite nurse and the kindness she showed him was beyond, she was a real-life angel. We couldn’t have had those last few days together at home without that care and my mum who has been with us keeping me strong when I needed to stay strong for John.
“John you are a class act and I will love you forever.” John went into remission in November 2023 but sadly, his cancer had returned by May 2024 and had spread to his brain. Over the Christmas period, Lorna was informed that she should “prepare for the worst,” but was determined to have her husband home for Christmas.
