Lorna Luxe speaks about her wedding to John Andrews

Shortly after opening up about the tragic death of her husband, John Andrews, Lorna Luxe has now shared his final bittersweet gesture, which gave her the “chuckle [she] needed”.

John, who was 64 years old when he died, had previously been diagnosed with stage three adrenal cancer in April 2023. Although he entered remission, tragically, in 2024, the disease returned, this time spreading to his brain. The couple regularly spoke about John’s cancer journey with their followers, with proud wife Lorna regarding her husband as the “bravest man” she knew.

While dealing with plenty of ups and downs, John and Lorna’s love for each other shone through, with the couple managing to share moments of joy even in the face of such uncertainty. And as she navigates the days following John’s passing, beloved fashion influencer Lorna has managed to find a little brightness in the darkness, all thanks to John’s “legendary behaviour”.

In a heartbreaking Instagram story, Lorna, real name Lorna Andrews, shared a poignant snap of a row of Valentine’s Day cards, one of which featured a photo of her and John smiling together in happier times. Revealing the story behind the pic, Lorna, 43, explained: “I’ve been opening mail, and this big envelope addressed to John arrived a couple of weeks ago, so I opened it. Legendary behaviour here, John, it was the chuckle I needed.”

The cards showcased John’s fun sense of humour, including one of Mona Lisa, photoshopped to show Lorna’s face, bearing the greeting ‘You’re a work of art’. Another humorous one saw John as Cupid, with the message, ‘Be mine, Valentine’. A fourth one shows a cartoon person scrolling through their phone on the loo, with the jokey caption, ‘This was me picking the card’. This comes after Lorna shared news of John’s passing with her 1.7 million Instagram followers, telling of how they’d been “holding hands” until the “very end”.

Lorna wrote: “My beautiful, brave John died yesterday. I am heartbroken. We were together to the very end, at home, in our own bed and holding hands, which is exactly what he wanted. The last conversation we had I asked him how he was feeling and he replied “rough but in love” and that was so him, to the point and choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved.

“John and I were so grateful to the district nurses who came daily to support us and make him comfortable. Anna was his favourite nurse and the kindness she showed him was beyond, she was a real life angel. We couldn’t have had those last few days together at home without that care and my mum, who has been with us, keeping me strong when I needed to stay strong for John. John, you are a class act, and I will love you forever.”
