Ofcom has received more than 11,000 complaints about Love Island: All Stars in a single week as viewers flocked to the broadcasting regulator to take issue with supposed “bullying” on the dating show
Ofcom has received more than 11,000 complaints about Love Island: All Stars in a single week. The hit ITV2 dating show, which sees former contestants come back to the villa for a second chance at love, has been on screen almost every night for just over a month, but viewers were incensed by the content that was in a recent batch of episodes.
The episode broadcast on 11 February received 105 complaints, whilst the following three episodes received 2,249 complaints, 8,594 complaints and 125 complaints respectively.
A spokesperson for Ofcom confirmed to The Mirror that the complaints “related to alleged bullying behaviour” on the set of the programme. Fans of the ITV2 series will know that over the last week, drama has played out between Belle Hassan, Jessy Potts and Samie Elishi.

The trio were accused of being “mean girls” towards fellow contestant Lucinda Strafford, who is currently coupled up with Sean Stone,. It all kicked off in this series’ Casa Amor-style twist. Upon Belle’s return to the main villa, following a brief stint at Villa USA, she learnt that Lucinda had ‘stolen’ Sean from her.
The whole thing ended up with Lucinda being left in tears on Friday night, amid the To Be Honest challenge, which saw the Islanders tasked with addressing harsh truths about their various relationships.
Belle’s mum later begged her daughter to “stop the shouting,” and the arguments during a video call from home. Jessy, who was previusly coupled up with TOWIE’s Joey Essex on the eleventh version of the regular show, received stern words from her father, who told her she was not coming across like a “kind girl” on screen.
As things unfolded, host Maya Jama took Lucinda to one side where she said: “It’s alright, obviously you’ve had disagreements with people, you’re not going to get on with everyone,” but, through tears, Lucinda admitted: “I genuinely feel like it’s me against the world in this place.”
As she tried to be encouraging, Maya said: “It’s not. You’ve been great, you and Sean have a good connection. You said you’re here for love, you two are obviously on the right path so….” as Lucina replied: “The only good thing is me and Sean, it’s just like what the f***.”
The whole drama certainly caught the attention of social media users, with one writing on X: “Samie and Bella have to stop now honestly. the side eyes and glances at each other whenever Lucinda is talking is just too much. its not good tv its just vile bully behavior” (sic)
Another said: “I’m voting Lucinda and Sean to win just to spite those mean girls. They’re all so fake to her now. No, I’m not “falling for” Sean and Lucinda’s act, but I don’t want to give the win to a bully or an enabler!”
