Indira Krishnan, who is set to play the role of Mata Kaushalya (the mother of Lord Ram) in the mythological epic, posted a picture featuring herself and Ranbir. The duo previously shared the screen in the 2023 blockbuster Animal, where Indira played a brief role as the mother of Geetanjali (played by Rashmika Mandanna). Moving from playing his mother-in-law to his mother, she expressed her admiration for Ranbir’s craft and personality.

While Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, Ramayana: Part 2 is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2027.
