Scottish singer, Lulu, was married to late Bee Gees star, Maurice Gibb, for four years before they called it quits in 1973
Shout star, Lulu, has made a bombshell claim about her famous ex-husband. The Scottish singer, 77, speaks candidly about her relationship with Bee Gees legend, Maurice Gibb – as well as her subsequent romances with pop icon, David Bowie, and hair stylist John Frieda in the latest addition of Louis Theroux’s podcast.
Reflecting on her marriage with Maurice, who died in 2003, aged 53, Lulu claimed the 1st Mistake I Made star had potentially fathered a child with another woman while they were still married. Lulu, whose four-year marriage to Maurice officially ended in 1973, told Louis she had ‘just found out’ and had irrefutable proof that the Manchester-born star secretly fathered a son following a brief fling.

Claiming the unnamed man is “a hundred percent Maurice’s”, she said: “I think he’s got a son. It might have happened when we were married. I just found out.
“Someone showed me something and I can’t remember the year he impregnated this girl after a one night stand and he has a son who has had his genes taken. It’s proven. He’s a hundred percent Maurice’s.”
Maurice, whose twin brother, Robin Gibb died in 2012, has two known children, daughter Samantha and son Adam, with his second wife, Yvonne Spenceley.

Despite claiming that the Bee Gees star did have a child out of wedlock, Lulu admits she hadn’t confirmed when Maurice’s alleged son was born ‘because it wasn’t that important’ to her.
After calling it quits with Maurice, Lulu had a relationship with celebrity stylist John Frieda, who she went on to have son Jordan Frieda with. However, their romance was strained following Lulu’s fling with music icon David Bowie, who had at the time achieved stratospheric success.
“I had a brief relationship with him, we had a fling,” she said of her romance to Bowie, admitting Frieda “knew, and it was an issue.”‘
Before Maurice died, Lulu invited the star to perform on her star-studded ITV special, An Audience With Lulu.
Telling Louis, she knew her ex would “jump” at the chance, she revealed: “‘I sort of knew in my heart that he would probably jump and he did. But Maurice was a very sweet guy though. You know I didn’t want to use him, but I was using him. You know what, now I’m glad because it touched people’s hearts.”
She concluded: “You know, sometimes in ending a relationship, you don’t say all that you wanted to say or you don’t explain yourself, or there’s confusion or there’s misunderstandings. It seemed to close the circle.”
The singer, who has one son of her own, also insisted age and experience had taught her to see the glass half full. “I think I used to take myself way too seriously,” Lulu told Louis. “I know you’re surprised at that, but it’s true, I think.
“And it’s painful when you take yourself too seriously or when you see the world black and white because there are many grey areas and I’ve learned through trial and tribulation.
“You know, I’ve had unbelievable highs, but I’ve also had a lot of lows, which most people have in their life. For God’s sake, I’m no different to anybody else in that respect.”
