News reports on Thursday said the suspect had been acting strangely.

He was tracked by officers to a property in Upper Coomera – also on the Gold Coast – where he was arrested about 2.04pm.

Paramedics arrived at the home to find the stabbed man with life-threatening injuries, and he died shortly after.

The 27-year-old was charged with one count of murder and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Officers said the two men probably knew each other.
