In partnership: Every October, the world turns pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time to remember, reflect, and take action. This year, Mediclinic is joining the global conversation with its inspiring “Faces of Strength” campaign, reminding women that strength, courage and early detection go hand in hand.

The campaign features seven women of different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities, each representing the resilience and hope that define breast cancer survivorship. By putting real faces to the message, Mediclinic aims to make awareness personal and show that behind every diagnosis is a woman with strength, determination and a story worth sharing.

“It’s easy to put off screenings when life gets busy,” says Paula, a breast cancer survivor featured in the campaign. “But taking the step to get checked gave me control over my health. Early detection gave me a chance, that’s why I want other women to act now, not later.”

Raising Awareness, Changing Perspectives

Rather than focusing solely on the medical side of breast cancer, the campaign celebrates the human side; courage, hope and the importance of self-care. Through powerful portraits and short video clips, the women share reflections on what early detection and support meant to them, encouraging others to prioritise their own health.

“Preventative screening is one of the most powerful tools you have,” says Dr. Shaheenah Dawood, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Director of Cancer Services (Dubai) at Mediclinic. “It empowers women to take control of their health, detect issues early and make informed decisions. We want to help break down the fear and stigma that sometimes surround screening  and replace it with confidence and courage.”

A Message of Empowerment

The Faces of Strength campaign goes beyond awareness, it’s about empowerment. By giving survivors a platform and highlighting their courage, Mediclinic reminds all women that breast cancer doesn’t discriminate, but awareness and early action can save lives.

Each participant delivers a shared message: screening saves lives. Their presence and voices encourage women to schedule check-ups, talk to their doctors, and share information with friends and family.

Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the campaign turns fear into action and statistics into inspiration, showing that early detection is not just a medical necessity, but an act of self-love.

“When women see themselves represented, women of all ages, sizes, and backgrounds, it becomes real,” says Dr. Shaheenah. “Our goal is to encourage open conversations about health and to remind every woman that her wellbeing matters.”

Courage, Awareness and Action

Faces of Strength is more than a campaign, it’s a call to action. It reminds us that awareness begins with a conversation, and that courage often starts with a single step: scheduling that screening.

Through these faces of strength and hope, Mediclinic is inspiring women everywhere to listen to their bodies, make their health a priority, and take charge of their futures, because empowerment and survival truly go hand in hand.

Breast cancer screening and women’s preventative health screening packages are available at Mediclinic hospitals throughout the year. For more information and to book your appointment please visit:
