Meet Carly Rae Jepsen’s Husband, Cole M.G.N. Amid The Pop Star Welcoming Her First Child With Him

Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the most renowned Canadian singer-songwriters and actresses. Her journey began in 2007 when she auditioned for Canadian Idol, where she performed her original song, Sweet Talker and went on to finish in 3rd place overall by the end of the competition. After signing with 604 Records later in the same year, Carly released her debut studio album, Tug of War, in September 2008. In September 2011, she released her hit song, Call Me Maybe which received a shoutout from fellow Canadian pop star, Justin Bieber.  

Reportedly, the song earned the title of “Song of the Summer” from Billboard magazine. Carly released her second studio album, Kiss, exactly a year later, in September 2012, and, as you might have guessed, it was a hit with music lovers, earning accolades such as Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards. Over the years, Carly has dropped several other albums, which have rightfully kept her in the spotlight. Carly Rae Jepsen’s husband, Cole M.G.N was born Cole Marsden Greif-Neill on March 7, 1985. According to reports, he graduated from NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts in 2007. Here, Cole was also a member of the inaugural class of the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music. Post his graduation, Cole has successfully made a name for himself in the music industry. Not only has he worked with his wife, Carly Rae Jepsen, but also with several other renowned musicians like Snoop Dogg, Anderson Paak, Beck, Dev Hynes, Christine & the Queens, and more.  

Many might not be aware, but Cole was actually a member of Pink’s band, Haunted Graffiti. Following this, he went on to perform and form a duo, Hariko Very, with musician and producer, Kenny Gilmore. He is also reportedly part of another duo called Room Service, which features The Vaccines’ Justin Hayward-Young alongside him.   

Cole M.G.N is a 6-time Grammy winner

Cole M.G.N is clearly one of the most talented musicians, record producers, songwriters, and mixers. With his talents being recognised, Cole has won several awards and accolades for his work. But most notably, he has won six Grammys, which might seem like a faraway dream for many musicians. For his work with Beck on Morning Phase, Cole won Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, and Best Engineered Album in the non-classical category in 2015.  

A few years later, in 2019, Cole bagged two Grammys for Beck’s Colors. More recently, in 2021, Cole won two more Grammys for Best Engineered Album in the non-classical category, again for another Beck project called Hyperspace.  

Cole M.G.N. met Carly Rae Jepsen for the first time when he worked on her album, The Loveliest Time 

Belonging to the same industry, Cole M.G.N. and Carly Rae Jepsen first met each other at work in 2021. Well, it was Carly’s management who introduced her to the producer, after which he worked on her song, So Right from the album, The Loveliest Time, which was released in 2023. Interestingly, many fans might not be aware that the skit heard at the beginning of Carly’s song is actually by her and Cole.

It was in 2022 that Cole M.G.N. and Carly Rae Jepsen went Instagram official. In a post about her 37th birthday, Carly confirmed that she was in a relationship with Cole by calling the producer “my man” in the caption. Additionally, in her post, she is shown sharing a kiss with him as he brings her a cake.  

Cole also did not shy away from showing his love for Carly and talking about their relationship online. For instance, when The Loveliest Time came out, he gushed over it and wrote on Instagram, “I’m so proud of my baby and honoured to be a part of this! Maybe I’m biased but I think this might be my favourite album of hers.”  

Cole M.G.N. and Carly Rae Jepsen had an intimate wedding at the Chelsea Hotel 

With both Cole and Carly always in the spotlight, the couple decided to keep their wedding day as intimate as possible. According to reports, the duo tied the knot at the Bard Room of the Chelsea Hotel with only 100 guests in attendance. Making the ceremony more meaningful, allegedly, it was none other than Carly’s aunt and uncle who officiated the wedding ceremony. Later, talking about their wedding day, Carly said: 

“Being present and at ease was key for both of us, we wanted it to feel romantic and full of emotion. Our family talked about how we met, and we wrote personal vows to each other that we read aloud.”

Last year, in November 2025, Carly took to her Instagram to announce that she and Cole were expecting their first child. Featuring black-and-white photos of her and Cole and proudly showing off her baby bump, the Call Me Maybe singer captioned the post, “Oh hi baby,” followed by a pink heart emoji. Now, on March 17, 2026, Carly revealed that it has already been two weeks since her and Cole’s child was born. In her Instagram Story, Carly wrote, “Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life. Welcome to the world, little one.”
