Harrison Ford recently arrived at the SAG Awards with his wife, Calista Flockhart. The actor bagged a lifetime achievement award being on the show. He was given the honour for his contribution to the industry, spanning six decades.

Harrison received the award while also getting a standing ovation. He joked as he said that while he is thankful, it felt a bit ‘strange’ to him to get a Lifetime Achievement award, when he is still in the middle of his career. He added that he’s an active actor. Well, the actor arrived at the event with his beautiful wife, Calista Flockhart. The actor also thanked his wife, Calista, for the support she gave him. For those who don’t know, Harrison Ford has been married thrice in his life. He first got married to Mary Marquardt in 1964, and they parted ways in 1979. The actor shares two sons with his first wife. Following this, Ford gave love another chance and got married to screenwriter Melissa Mathison. The duo tied the knot in 1983, and it was in the year 2000 that they parted ways. It was in 2002, when Ford met Calista Flockhart at the Golden Globe Awards. Following this, they started dating and eventually got married. The duo shares a son, Liam, whom Calista adopted before meeting the actor.

Harrison Ford’s wife, Calista Flockhart, is an actress who was born in Freeport, Illinois, to an English teacher and a Kraft Foods Executive. She attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Soon, she began to get noticed for her acting abilities and got a chance to perform at the main stage in Hardol Scott’s production of William Inge’s Picnic. Following this, she got her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre.

Well, her acting journey began with her appearance in a minor role as a babysitter in an episode of Guiding Light. She was also seen in Lifestories: Families in Crisis. Her professional debut was in Beside Herself. She was also seen in the television movie, Darrow, and some other films that marked her presence were Naked in New York and Getting In. Harrison was seen in The Glass Menagerie, which was her Broadway debut.

Calista Flockhart was also seen in films like Drunks and The Birdcage. She was also a part of the Fox Television series, Ally McBeal, and ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. Talking about the same, in an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, she said that she felt grateful that she had a choice to make. Speaking more about the same, Calista mentioned: 

“I felt very grateful that I had a choice so I made a choice to walk away and I don’t regret it at all. I was 99 percent a stay-at-home mom.”

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart met each other back in 2002 at the Golden Globe Awards. The couple soon started dating. During that time, Harrison was in the middle of a divorce from his second wife, Melissa Mathison, which was finalised in 2004. Well, the couple’s first meeting sparked something, and they soon started dating, with Harrison telling Hello! Magazine, next year, he was very much in love. He said that romantic love is the most fulfilling kind, while stating that he was never surprised that he could fall in love again. Harrison could be quoted as saying:

“Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love, and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life. I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn’t surprised that I did.”

Following their first meeting and confirmation, the couple dated each other for several years. Harrison was already a dad to four biological kids, and Calista was a mom to an adopted kid. The couple shared 22 year age gap, which already became the talk of the town. However, there is love that knows no number or age. The couple has been in love with each other for the past 23 years. 

It was in 2009 when Harrison proposed to Calista for marriage after seven years of dating. It was during that time that Harrison adopted Calista’s son, Liam. The duo got married in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2010. And it was only then that they made things official. Throughout the years, Calista and Harrison have been each other’s biggest supporters.

In every phase of life, the actor  praised his wife for devoting her life to taking care of their family and raising their kids. The couple celebrated their 15-year wedding anniversary in June 2025. And while speaking about the same on NPR’s Wild Card With Rachel Martin, Harrison Ford said that old people can love too. Speaking about the key to their happy marriage, Harrison said:

“Old people can love, too,” ” he stated, per People. “You know, you think about falling in love and all of that business. You think it’s the business of youth or something, you know, and staying in love is the issue. Maintaining, nurturing, basically, not f—— up.”
