Meghan Markle fans weren’t impressed with her latest video as she showed off her latest As Ever brand line, with some accusing her of using her royal title to sell product

Meghan Markle has come under fire for her latest As Ever release. The Duchess of Sussex is accused of having tried to “cash in” on her regal links in the advertising campaign for her brand. The former Suits star, 44, had been teasing the release of her latest item all week – and when it eventually came, some fans weren’t too impressed with how it was handled.

The clip shared on Instagram showed Meghan working at her laptop. Sitting at her desk, she was beside one of her new $64 candles and a blue notebook. The royal cypher was clearly visible in gold on the cover.

The monogram, which is made up of the letter M with a crown on top, was first shared before Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018. But fans weren’t happy with the use following Meghan’s decision to quit her royal duties in 2020.

At the time, Meghan and Harry moved to Montecito with their kids and removed themselves from the royal duties. Now, with her latest line showing the royal symbol, online users have hit out at her.

One user on Twitter/X complained: “Another example of Meghan putting her royal cypher on pretty much anything, you can see it on her notebook in the latest Instagram story.”

Another added: “I rather think that was the point. Pretty difficult to sell a candle for that price if it’s not royal.” A third responded: “It’s pathetic at this point. If you must remind everyone you’re connected to royalty, you’re not royal at all.”

Meghan’s As Ever website states the product “evokes the freshness of a day in the English countryside and harks back to the Duchess’ ‘cherished memories’ of her May 19th, 2018 nuptials in Windsor”.

The latest releases, including her recent wine launch, mark a huge shift for Meghan’s lifestyle brand, which launched in March 2025. The collection is inspired by the season of gifting.

And Meghan introduced two new products to her As Ever range: ceramic scented candles. The Christmas collection features two candles, whose names reflect important dates to the Duchess. Also in the range are a number of her fan favourite products in seasonal gift packaging.

It’s said that one of the candles was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s wedding day in 2018. The product has been called 519, in reference to their May 19 nuptials.

It features fragrances of Moroccan mint and white tea notes. The other candle, No. 084, draws from her August 4 birthday. This product features hints of sandalwood, lotus and poppy.
