MLB’s top-selling jersey list might surprise you

Now that Opening Weekend of the 2026 MLB season is underway, it’s time to look at the deeper numbers that might be the most important of them all.

What jerseys fans wear.

We’re kidding, of course, but it’s still noteworthy to see which MLB players are rising and falling in popularity based on their jersey sales.

For the third straight year — and for an almost absurd 30 consecutive months — Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani sits atop Major League Baseball’s jersey sales mountain, a global icon stitched into Dodger blue and carried from Los Angeles to Tokyo and beyond. Ohtani has the best-selling jersey in the world, and it’s not even close.

However, the player sitting in second place might surprise you.

Right behind him stands Yoshinobu Yamamoto, his Dodgers teammate, his countryman and the 2025 World Series MVP. For the first time in league history, two Japanese-born stars sit at No. 1 and No. 2.

The Dodgers don’t just dominate on the diamond — they dominate closets. Mookie Betts (No. 5) and Freddie Freeman (No. 7) help give Los Angeles four players in the top 10, and with Kiké Hernandez (No. 12) five in the top 20. The Dodgers are now a global brand, and fans want to wear the team’s stars on their backs.

Elsewhere, power still sells. Aaron Judge (No. 3) remains a fixture near the top, while Cal Raleigh (No. 4) crashes the party for the first time, a reminder that new heroes don’t ask for permission.

Popular players on new teams are selling fast off the shelves as well. Nolan Arenado (No. 6) now resides in the desert with the Diamondbacks, and Pete Alonso (No. 8), the “Polar Bear,” took the 7-train out of Queens and all the way to Baltimore where he’s now hitting homers at Camden Yards for the Orioles.

Rising stars Roman Anthony (No. 9) and Pete Crow-Armstrong (No. 10), round out the top 10.

Here’s the full list of the top 20 most popular MLB jerseys based on sales of the official Nike jerseys from all of the Fanatics network of sites, including MLBShop.com.
