According to reports from Brian Entin and NewsNation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has recently asked residents near Nancy’s Tucson neighborhood to review their home security for two specific dates: January 11, 2026, and January 24, 2026. The reports alleged that the investigators visited nearly every home in the area and even reviewed their security camera footage from those days.

This acting suggests that the authorities believe that something important might have happened in the neighborhood weeks before Nancy vanished. For those unaware, Nancy went missing on February 1, 2026, after she disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona. But the FBI’s interest in earlier footage hints that they are exploring the possibility that whoever abducted her may have been scouting the area before her disappearance. 

Simultaneously, the FBI is reviewing security footage to retrace Nancy’s final moments in the days before she went missing. According to some news reports, investigators have spoken with employees at a local Mexican restaurant where Nancy filmed a segment for the Today program. They are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing people who may have interacted with her to establish a clear timeline of her activities before February 1, 2026.

Savannah Guthrie is unhappy with the speculations about her family 

As the investigators continue their search for Nancy, her daughter, Savannah, is reportedly unhappy with the widespread internet speculation linking her family members, especially her elder sister, Annie Guthrie, and brother-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, to the case. For those unaware, days after Nancy went missing, journalist Ashleigh Banfield suggested during a podcast episode that Savannah’s brother-in-law might be considered a potential suspect, since he was among the last people to see her before he dropped her off after dinner that night. Sharing Savannah’s reaction to the same, her former colleague, Megyn Kelly, said:

“I have not been able to confirm that the Guthrie family wants to sue Ashleigh Banfield, but I have confirmed that Savannah is livid about that report and definitely does not suspect her or her brother-in-law. I mean, of course, she loves her sister.”

Law enforcement’s reaction to online speculations in the Nancy Guthrie case 

Meanwhile, the law enforcement officials have strongly denied the internet speculations about the Guthrie family. Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, whose department is leading the investigation alongside federal agents, warned that everyone should stay away from online speculations and that the baseless doubts about her family members are harmful and unfair. He added that it was “wrong” and “cruel” to blame them since they are the victims in the situation. Meanwhile, they continue to warn that Nancy’s disappearance may have been a targeted act. The Sheriff had previously stated that investigators believe the person responsible could potentially strike again, although they have made no arrests in the case so far.
