
TEHRAN- The governor-general of Tehran province, emphasizing the establishment of complete security across the province, stated that the supply of essential goods, bread, and fuel is ongoing.
According to a report by Tasnim News Agency, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, the governor-general of Tehran, commented on the general situation in the province, saying: “Today, complete security and desirable calm prevail in Tehran province, and this situation has been achieved through the efforts of security and law enforcement forces, the Basij, the IRGC, the police (Faraja), the judiciary, and with the cooperation of the people.”
Stating that there are no specific problems regarding the provision of the public’s essential needs, he added: “The process of supplying, distributing, and offering essential goods in the province is proceeding normally, and the Market Regulation Headquarters monitors the market situation on a daily basis.”
He continued: “Based on the assessments conducted, favorable conditions prevail in the province, both in terms of the abundance of goods and price stability, and necessary measures have been taken to prevent any disruption in the market.”
Referring to the measures taken to regulate the fruit market, Motamedian said: “5,000 tons of regulated market fruit had been stockpiled beforehand, which has been offered at 30 percent below the market price to control prices and meet the people’s needs.”
Regarding the bread situation in Tehran province, he stated: “The subsidized flour needed by 11,000 bakeries in the province has been secured until the end of Farvardin (mid-April), and if necessary, bakeries have the capacity to operate in two shifts or even three shifts to ensure an uninterrupted supply of bread for the people.”
The governor-general of Tehran clarified: “To increase resilience in emergency situations and in case of power outages, over 35 percent of the bakeries in the province have been equipped with passive defense measures to ensure continued service to the people.”
In another part of his remarks on Radio Tehran, Motamedian referred to the state of infrastructure and said: “Necessary measures have been anticipated in the areas of electricity, water, gas, and fuel. Despite some damages, points that experienced disruptions have returned to the grid within a short period; for instance, in the electricity sector, damaged installations were reconnected to the grid in less than an hour.”
Emphasizing the stability of the service network in Tehran province, he stated: “Currently, there are no widespread outages in the province, and the responsible agencies are monitoring and managing the situation around the clock.”
Regarding the fuel supply situation, he said: “There are no specific problems in this area either, and 386 fuel stations in Tehran are operating around the clock, providing services to the people.”
Motamedian noted: “Currently, no specific queues have been reported at fuel stations, and the fuel distribution process is proceeding under normal conditions.”
