Noreen Aslam Slams The Portrayal Of Rehman Dakait In ‘Dhurandhar’, Says, ‘He Was Nothing In Front..’

Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar has been making a lot of noise ever since it hit the theatres. While the film is going strong at the box office, it is the character of Akshaye Khanna (as ‘Rehman Dakait’) that has been making rounds on social media. Fans can’t stop talking about it. Amidst that, Chaudhry Aslam’s wife, Noreen Aslam slammed the character and shared that Rehman was not a big don as portrayed in the film. 

Noreen Aslam slams the portrayal of Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar

Fans on social media can’t stop praising Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar. His entry song, Sher-e-Baloch is making fans go crazy. Some viewers also believe that Akshaye completely overshadowed Ranveer Singh’s character in the film. However, Noreen Aslam, the wife of a Karachi police officer, Chaudhry Aslam, recently slammed the portrayal of Rehman Dakait in the film and said that he wasn’t as big as portrayed in the movie. During her appearance on a Pakistani podcast, she was quoted as saying:

“Rehman is not as big a don as portrayed in the movie. He was nothing in front of Aslam. Everyone knows about the murders he did in public view but still he wasn’t a big deal. He was powerful only in a specific area.”

Who was Rehman Dakait?

Rehman Dakait was a ga***ter from the Lyari area of Karachi, Pakistan. He was born as Sardar Abdul Rehman Baloch in the mid-1970s and died in 2009 during a police shootout. According to multiple reports, he was very young when he entered the world of crime. And even though he died soon, he was one of the most horrific criminals. Reportedly, he even murdered his own mother by strangling her and then hanging her from the ceiling fan. Allegedly, Rehman even led a gang in parts of Lyari. After his death, at the age of 34, during a police shootout in Karachi, Rehman’s cousin, Uzair Baloch took charge of the gang.

For those who don’t know, Noreen Aslam is the wife of the late Pakistani police officer, Chaudhry Aslam. After his tragic death in 2014, Noreen has often spoken about her husband’s bravery. Ever since the trailer of Dhurandhar was released, Noreen has been speaking about her husband’s portrayal in the film. Earlier, she had shared that she would take legal action if she finds anything wrong in the portrayal of her husband. Talking about the film, she had shared:

“We are Muslims, and such words are disrespectful not only to Aslam but his mother, who was a simple, honest woman. Chaudhry liked Sanjay Dutt, and I am sure he will do justice to the role.”

Recently, she spoke about Rehman Dakait’s portrayal in the film. In a podcast, she also recalled the number of times her husband, Chaudhry had dodged death. She was quoted as saying:

“Once, he got a call and looked tensed. He pulled me and asked me to leave. After seven months, I came to know that we had been traced and after three minutes of us leaving, there was a blast.”

The action thriller film, Dhurandhar is directed by Aditya Dhar and it stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and more. After receiving positive response from the audience, the sequel of the film is all set to release on March 19, 2026.
