Concluding his India tour with an emotional message, Messi took to his Instagram. Speaking in Spanish, the football icon said, “Well, I just want to thank everyone for the love and affection during these days in India. In fact, it was a truly beautiful experience for us to be able to share it.”
Reflecting on the intensity of the visit, Messi added, “And although it was short and intense, it was wonderful to receive all this love that I knew existed, but receiving it directly was amazing. It was a crazy experience, everything they did for us these days.”
He further assured fans that he will visit soon. “So, we carry all this love with us, and we will definitely return, hopefully one day to play a match or on another occasion, but we will definitely return to visit India. Thank you very much.”

Lionel Messi landed in Kolkata early Saturday morning, where thousands of fans gathered at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport to catch a glimpse of the Argentine star. The GOAT India Tour 2025 kicked off in Kolkata, followed by stops in Mumbai, and concluded in New Delhi. The tour also marked Messi’s second visit to India after his 2011 trip to Kolkata for a friendly match against Venezuela.
