Officials Find A Black Glove Near Nancy Guthrie’s House, It Resembles Gloves Of The Masked Suspect

The relentless manhunt for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of popular US anchor Savannah Guthrie, has reached its 11th day, and investigators have some promising new leads. Shortly after FBI director Kash Patel shared surveillance footage of a masked suspect from Nancy’s doorbell camera, the officials stumbled upon what’s believed to be key evidence in finding the alleged abductor: a black glove. This is the first solid piece of evidence that could uncover vital clues about the perpetrator and help trace Nancy.

A single black glove has been discovered near Nancy Guthrie’s AZ property

On February 11, 2026, local time, law enforcement officials found a mysterious black glove along a dirt pathway, not far from Nancy Guthrie’s property in the Catalina Foothills, Tucson, Arizona. This is believed to be a significant piece of evidence in the kidnapping case, as the glove reportedly bears a close resemblance to the pair of gloves that the suspect had worn in the recovered doorbell camera footage. The officials have described the glove as insulated and dark in colour, and it has been collected and sent for forensic testing.

The officials successfully recovered footage from Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera after extensive work because she didn’t have a Nest app subscription. In close-up snaps and parts of the footage shared by the FBI to the public, a person wearing a ski mask and gloves can be seen approaching Nancy’s front door, reportedly around 1:47 a.m. on February 1, 2026 (the night Nancy went missing). The alleged abductor wore a full-sleeve jacket and carried a backpack, and what’s believed to be a firearm holstered at the waist. Before entering the house, the subject appears surprised by the doorbell camera, tries to cover it with porch foliage, and ultimately disables it. 

The close-up photos of the intruder offer clear glimpses of the eyes and mouth, and locals have since contacted the authorities with multiple tips about who the masked individual might be. Speaking about the evidence, former officials have pointed out that the intruder’s clothing details, including the gloves, jacket, shoes, and backpack, could collectively play a significant role in piecing things together. 

The Guthrie siblings remain hopeful about their mother’s safe return

Nancy Guthrie’s family and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have previously mentioned that the 84-year-old is a “vulnerable adult” with a heart condition that requires constant monitoring, and going more than 24 hours without medicine could prove fatal. Regardless, the Guthrie siblings remain hopeful that their mother is alive and well. Today Show co-host, Savannah Guthrie, her sister Annie Guthrie, and their older brother, Camron Guthrie, have repeatedly appealed to the public for tips about their missing mom. On February 10, 2026, Savannah re-shared the doorbell camera snaps on social media, urging the public to help identify the man and insisting she believes her mother is still alive.

The investigation so far

The search operation for Nancy Guthrie has undergone significant development in the last 24 hours, with a surge of public phone calls with tips. The FBI reportedly stated that they were now working with multiple “persons of interest”. On February 10, 2026, the officials detained the first individual for questioning, who later turned out to be a local delivery driver who had no knowledge about Nancy Guthrie. He was released without charges. 

Meanwhile, the recovered glove has been sent for forensic testing, where experts will likely analyse it for DNA, fingerprints, or fibres that could provide significant leads to identify the masked individual in the footage. While there has been zero proof of life so far, the officials are hopeful that Nancy “is still out there”.
