Olivia Attwood’s ex-boyfriend felt “humiliated” during their relationship. The Love Island star dated her co-star, Chris Hughes, in 2017 after they met on the ITV dating programme before finishing in third place.
After leaving the villa, their relationship soon sparked interest, and the former couple launched their own show, Chris and Olivia: Crackin’ On, documenting their everyday lives and blossoming romance. However, the show also documented their arguments and an explosive feud.
In one scene, Chris was seen looking visibly upset, saying he no longer wanted to be with Olivia, who “can never do anything wrong”. Olivia later claimed that the pair had engaged in countless arguments due to Chris’s alleged behaviour with other women.
Another scene saw Chris telling his ex-girlfriend not to talk to him again, with Olivia branding him “f***ing nasty.” Now, sources have claimed that the relationship was “difficult” for Hughes.
“Chris is literally the nicest guy you could meet,” a source said. They added to the MailOnline: “He is often referred to as the nicest man in showbiz, nobody has a bad word to say about him. But Olivia went for him on their show and it was very difficult for him. Viewers would often say that she gaslit Chris and humiliated him. It was horrible.”
While Chris and Olivia split in 2018, she made a subtle dig at him and his new girlfriend, JoJo Siwa, after they met on Celebrity Big Brother last year. Olivia shared a video of herself, miming along to the song Pretty Little Baby, by Connie Francis.
When it came to the lyric: “Pretty little baby,” Attwood was seen flicking her eyes, which appeared to be mimicking JoJo, before she erupted into fits of laughter. Captioning her post, the reality star said: “I just know this is going to trigger people so badly.” Chris and Olivia’s split was put down to a “breach of trust”, following claims that she had texted her ex-boyfriend, who turned out to be her now estranged husband, Bradley Dack.
“Imagine if he hadn’t,” a source said of Chris finding alleged messages. They added: “She might be with him now still and that would be truly horrifying.” Meanwhile, Olivia and footballer Bradley have recently split, due to an alleged breach of trust, two and a half years after they tied the knot.
Olivia and Bradley had met over a decade ago, before she entered the Love Island villa. But their initial relationship broke down after Bradley had cheated on her. After her split from Chris, they worked through their issues, with Bradley getting down on one knee in 2019.
But sources claim that despite people having hopes that she and Bradley could rekindle their marriage, there appears to be no chance of this happening. A source said that Olivia and Bradley, despite having “ups and downs” throughout their relationship, had managed to navigate their way through troubles in the past.
“They have always managed to overcome any problems between them, including distance, their busy careers, and, in the past, betrayals from Bradley’s side,” a source told the MailOnline. They added: “But after meeting over a decade ago, Bradley’s recent breach of trust, which came as a complete shock to Olivia, has led them to end their marriage.
“After being on and off at the start of their romance, some people have questioned whether this breakup is temporary, but it’s definitely not.”
The Mirror has approached the spokespeople for Chris and Olivia for comment.
