You have a pretty good idea of where this one’s going, am I right? Those were the first 11 men who started games at quarterback for the Jets. We like nice, round numbers in sports, and the Jets have given us one, for this is exactly the first one-fifth of the total number of names on that list.
Brady Cook, when he takes the Jets’ first snap Sunday in Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium, will become the 55th player to assume that honor.
We don’t know a whole lot about Brady Cook. We know he didn’t exactly scream “Unitas” at anyone with his pro debut last week against Miami (14-for-30, 163 yards, zero touchdowns, two picks), but to be fair, it was Tyrod Taylor who received most of the first-team reps leading up to that game. We can grant Cook a mulligan.
