Golf influencer Paige Spiranac opened up on her “love-hate relationship” with golf and how it’s affected her mental health.
During a fan Q&A on her Instagram Story on Sunday, Spiranac, who asked her followers what they love most about golf, shared that the game led her to seek therapy.
“I’ve always said that golf is the reason I’m in therapy, and it’s also my therapy,” she said.
“It can be so infuriating at times where you just want to quit and never want to look at your golf clubs ever again.
“But then when I am stressed, or frustrated, or going through something, there is nothing more relaxing than just going to the range, putting my music on and just beating balls for hours.”
Spiranac agreed with someone that said every round is a different challenge.
“This is why golf is so addicting and also why I have such a love-hate relationship with the game,” she said.
“Because you can be standing on the first tee, do everything correctly… and you could just have the best round of your life or the worst. You never know what you’re going to get. It’s full of surprises but it always keeps you coming back for more.”
Spiranac has been open about her mental health, suffering from “severe social anxiety,” and the pitfalls of living life in the spotlight.

She previously shared that she was “in a bit of a funk” and trying to work through it during an Instagram Q&A last month.
Spiranac explained that she recently pulled back from social media because “I feel like my anxiety has taken control,” resulting in her “overthinking everything.”
Last month, the internet personality secured a long-term deal with Pro Shop as an equity owner and ambassador — which centers on launching original content and commerce businesses built around Spiranac’s golf lifestyle brand called Paige Co.
