Athena Fury may only be four, but she’s broken her arm and a leg – and on Sunday she was rushed to hospital again
Paris Fury spent her Sunday in hospital after her accident prone four-year-old Athena got into a spot of bother again. The lively youngster, who has also broken her leg and her arm according to her older sister, had another fall and narrowly avoided breaking her other arm as she was left needing a wheelchair.
The incident came as dad Tyson gears up for his comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 – with the the second season of At Home With The Furys landing on Netflix in the same month. Mother-of-seven Paris left Venezuela, 16, looking after her siblings after taking Athena to A&E. When things calmed down, she found some time to upload some Instagram Stories to share a snap of her daughter waiting for further medical support.
Athena was wearing Wicked pyjamas with a Christian Louboutin bag by her side. Paris, 36, shared a caption reading: “So this was our Sunday afternoon, Athena is ok. She fell and we thought she had broke her arm. The doctors said it’s not but want to double check tomorrow but want to double check tomorrow but she still sore… Hopefully better tomorrow and confirm no brakes.” [sic].

Athena’s older sister Venezuela was left looking after the others and kept everyone updated on TikTok. She said: “My mam said the baby’s broke around, I think, or she’d sprained it. So, you know – a little delicate, fragile thing she is. She’s only four. She’s broken her leg, her arm and her other arm now.”
Back in 2022, sports legend Tyson opened up on the heart-wrenching moment he feared daughter Athena had died after a phone call from wife Paris. She was put on ventilators early and was dead for as long as three minutes before being revived by miracle workers at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
The former world heavyweight champion admits ‘everything was perfect’ in the initial moments after Athena’s birth before a midwife took her from his arms to give her emergency treatment.
“If Athena’s heart rate couldn’t be steadied she would probably die from a cardiac arrest. I’d been reduced to nothing. My baby’s life was hanging in the balance and my name and what I did for a living wasn’t going to change a thing,” he wrote in his book, Gloves Off.
While out for a jog after she had been taken off the incubator, he received a heart-wrenching call. Fury wrote: “I’d probably only done around three miles when my phone started ringing. It was Paris. She was hysterical. ‘The baby’s died’, she screamed. ‘The baby’s dead. She’s dead. She’s dead’.
“I sprinted to the ward as fast as I could, fearing the worst. My chest burned, my legs were in agony, and as I ran I tried my best to console Paris. ‘It’s going to be alright,’ I panted down the phone. ‘Let the doctors do their job. Don’t worry.’.
“When I made it to her bedside, there seemed to be a hundred medics crowding around Athena. Apparently, she’d become completely unresponsive while Paris was holding her, then her heartbeat had faded away to nothing. Athena was resuscitated, but Paris was now losing it.
“A nurse was trying to calm her as the specialist staff went to work. I couldn’t believe what was happening Eventually, to our enormous relief, and with the grace of God the doctors were able to steady Athena.”
