Paris Jackson is revealing how her past drug use took a toll on her body.
The “Let Down” singer, 27, revealed in a Nov. 10 TikTok video that she has “a perforated septum” caused by taking drugs.
“I realized I never addressed this and it can sometimes be very noticeable,” Jackson said in the clip. “I have a really loud whistle when I breathe through my nose, and that is because I have what is called a perforated septum.”
Jackson then shined her phone light up to her nose to show viewers the hole, explaining that a perforated septum is “slightly different” compared to a deviated septum.
A perforated septum, also known as septal perforation, is a hole in the cartilage or bone in between your nostrils, typically caused by injuries and conditions that damage the blood vessels in your nose, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
“And that is from what you think it’s from,” Jackson said about her perforated septum.
“Don’t do drugs, kids,” Michael Jackson’s daughter continued while pointing at the camera. “Or do, I mean, everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life. I’m not going to tell anyone what to do.”
“But I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life,” she added.
The “American Horror Story” actress explained that she doesn’t want to get plastic surgery to fix her nose “because I’m almost six years sober and you have to take pills when you do a surgery that gnarly and I don’t want to f–k with that.”
“But I’ve been living with this since I was about 20 and it’s a b–ch when you’re in the studio,” Jackson shared, noting that she can “stick a spaghetti noodle” through her nostril and move it back and forth.
Jackson, who was previously addicted to heroin and alcohol, marked five years of sobriety in January.
“Hi, I’m pk and I’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict,” she wrote on Instagram. “Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface.”
“It’s because i’m sober that i get to smile today. i get to make music. i get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat,” Jackson added. “I get to feel heartbreak in all it’s glory. i get to grieve. i get to laugh. i get to dance. i get to trust. i feel the sun on my skin and it’s warm.”
During her addiction battle, Jackson committed self-harm.
“Yes, I tried to kill myself many times,” she said in a 2020 episode of her Facebook Watch series, “Unfiltered: Paris Jackson and Gabriel Glenn.”
“I would cut and burn myself,” the “Hit Your Knees” singer said. “I never thought that I would die from it because I was always in control of the razor and I knew how deep I was going.”
