PayPay Valuation May Exceed 2 Trillion Yen Ahead of Nasdaq Listing

TOKYO, Mar 04 (News On Japan) –
PayPay’s market capitalization is expected to exceed 2 trillion yen as the company prepares for a listing on the U.S. Nasdaq exchange.

PayPay, the smartphone payment giant backed by SoftBank Group, announced detailed conditions for its planned listing on March 3rd. The company plans to offer shares at between 17 dollars and 20 dollars each, which would give it a maximum market capitalization of roughly 2.1 trillion yen.

If completed, the listing would represent the largest U.S. public offering by a Japanese company to date. Of the approximately 55 million shares scheduled to be sold, around 8.6 million will be allocated for investors in Japan.
