Perrie Edwards has made a huge decision regarding her solo music as her former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson prepares to tell my truth” on “false narratives” about her exit from the group
Perrie Edwards has made a huge decision about her solo music. The former Little Mix star has decided to move up the release of her single Woman In Love, as the original release date clashed with the release of her former bandmate Jesy Nelson‘s documentary, in which she lifts the lid on the real reason she left the group.
Perrie was set to release her new song on 13 February, but has now changed that date to 9 February. Sharing the news X, the account Perrie HQ said: “Surprise! ‘Woman In Love’ now dropping on Monday, 9th Feb at 5pm UK time!”
Fans replied asking why Perrie changed the release date, and many said she “didn’t need to change the date”, implying that the reason Perrie had altered the schedule was to avoid the release clashing with Jesy’s documentary.

Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix will be released on Amazon Prime on 13 February. The documentary largely looks at Jesy’s pregnancy with her twin daughters, but the star has said that it will also be her chance to set the record straight on why she left Little Mix.
Ahead of the documentary’s release, Jesy said that she hoped any “false narratives” would be “put to bed”. Speaking at a screening of the docuseries in London, Jesy said there were “false narratives” about why she left.
She said: “I go into the reason why I left Little Mix, which I’ve never, ever spoken about, and that was really tough, because, like I said, there’s been a constant narrative that’s been written about me – I believe it gave a false narrative of why I left.
“This was my turn to say this is my truth, and this is why I left. But I also just really hope that it gets put to bed after this, because I feel like I’ve been carrying that weight for a really long time.”
Jesy left the group in 2020 after almost 10 years with them. Little Mix were formed in 2011 after all the members – Perrie, Jesy, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – auditioned for X Factor.
When she left, Jesy cited mental health reasons, and Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne continued as a trio until 2022. Following her exit, it was speculated that the other three had a falling out with Jesy.
At the screening, Jesy reflected positively on her time with Little Mix, who won X Factor together. She shared that they were “best friends”: “When I got to reflect on all the amazing times I had in Little Mix, and even the footage you see of Little Mix that no one’s ever seen before, you just see how beautiful our friendship was, and the reason why Little Mix were so big. We really were best friends.”
The Mirror has contacted Perrie’s spokesperson for comment.
