Pete Wicks has declared “romance is dead” as he opened up about love after being pictured kissing Olivia Attwood. Over the weekend, Pete and Olivia were photographed sharing a kiss at a hotel bar, just weeks after news emerged that the former Love Island star was splitting from her footballer husband, Bradley Dack.

Sighted in Soho’s Flute Bar, the former Only Way is Essex stars reportedly cosied up to each other at a table littered with empty glasses while looking at Olivia’s phone. Pete and Olivia, who currently work together on KISS FM’s The Sunday Roast podcast, were spotted locking lips.

And now, Pete has shared his thoughts on romance in a profanity-laden episode of the Staying Relevant podcast, released on March 23. The Strictly Come Dancing star enjoyed a chat with “everyone’s favourite nan”, Grime Gran, real name Margie Keefe, who rose to fame through her interviews with grime music artists at her Bethnal Green residence.

In one segment, Pete quizzed Margie on what men should do to be a “gentleman”, to which she suggested that they need to be more “thoughtful”. She explained: “A lot of men don’t put no thought in anything, you know. To me, a bunch of flowers means such a lot, you know. Give a bunch of flowers now and again.”

He replied: “Do you know what? It’s the small things, innit? It’s being thoughtful, I think, is so overlooked because we live in such a materialistic world now that it’s all about how much something costs or this, that, and the other.” Margie said her late husband used to leave her notes, although they weren’t “always nice”.

Pete went on to say: “I do think like – and it is part of romance is dead, a little bit – do you know what I mean?” He continued by noting that he loves a “rant” and highlighted that when it comes to Valentine’s Day, he thinks the occasion is a “load of b******s”. He added: “If you love someone, love them 365 days a year”.

Up until Pete and Olivia’s kiss, the pair had refuted claims that they were in a relationship, but a pal of the duo has claimed that they had been regularly hanging out and that their friendship had evolved into an “unexpected romance”. The source told The Sun: “They have been spending a lot of time together and an unexpected romance has blossomed from friendship.”

Pete has been snapped in the bar previously with Maura Higgins in 2024, where they were also spotted kissing. Meanwhile, claims have emerged that Bradley was “livid” about the pictures of Pete and his ex-wife, Olivia. The former couple reportedly split over what was described as a “breach of trust” on the part of Bradley, who is said to have stayed silent since.

As he left Ebbsfleet International railway station, he was spotted without his wedding ring. A source told The Sun: “Bradley is livid, he’s not surprised at all but is completely embarrassed and upset.” They added: “He can’t believe Olivia has moved on so publicly, and they’ve not even signed the divorce papers. Bradley was hopeful for a reunion with Olivia.”

Yesterday (March 22), Pete and Olivia were spotted making separate arrivals at Bauer Media Studios for the recording of Sunday Roast. According to one source, Olivia has “always been drawn to” him. They claimed to Closer Magazine: “Olivia has always been drawn to Pete and carried a torch for him. If she wasn’t with him herself, she didn’t want anyone else to have him.”

In addition to these comments, they also claimed that Olivia is “totally smitten” with the 37-year-old media personality and she’d “always liked him”. They added: “Olivia has fallen big time, she’s totally smitten with Pete. She’s always liked him – everyone can see the connection”.
