Pink has split from Carey Hart after 20 years of marriage, according to reports. The singer and the former pro motocross racer share two children, daughter Willow Sage and son Jameson Moon. The couple has endured two serious breakups since they first started dating back in 2001.

They met in Philadelphia at the extreme sporting event, Summer X Games, which ended in Carey being hospitalised when he reportedly plunged 35 feet while attempting a mid-air flip on his bike, shattering his right foot and breaking three ribs and his tailbone.

They split for the first time in 2003 but reunited when Pink wrote “Will You Marry Me? I’m serious!” on a pit board while he was racing. Carey initially didn’t see the sign and continued the race before veering off to say ‘yes’.

The sports star later told People magazine: “I knew within the first few weeks after meeting her that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life.”

They tied the knot in Costa Rica in January 2006 but split again just two years later, inspiring her hit song, So What?

Pink – real name Alecia Beth Moore Hart – was devastated. Determined to save her marriage to the man she loved, the desperate star decided to explore a new avenue.

In the hopes of a reconciliation, she turned to a therapist and within two years, she and Carey were back together and expecting their first child.

During a live video with the couple’s therapist Vanessa Inn, Pink spoke openly about her relationship troubles. She told her 7.9 million followers: “I got a lot of s**t for telling people that Carey and I have been in couples’ counselling with Vanessa. So I talk to Vanessa on my own and I also talk to Vanessa with Carey and for Carey and I.”

The star who shares children Willow, 11, and Jameson, six, with the motor fanatic admitted that her marriage would be over if it wasn’t for therapy.

She said: “It’s the only reason that we’re still together because you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak. I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing – that you just speak two different languages.

“You need someone to hear both of you and then translate it for you, and without Vanessa translating for me for the last 18 years, I mean we would not be together.”

She continued: “We just wouldn’t because we are not taught as kids how to have relationships, how to get along with people”.

Pink is rightly proud of their longevity and in 2021, Pink wrote on Instagram : “Proud of us babe. See, sometimes being stubborn pays off. What a wild ride it’s been once we learned how to stay in our race line.”

Reflecting on her marriage, she told People that she had to learn to ‘expect less’ of her partner.

“We’ve really grown up together,” she said. “When you first get together, you look at that person as your entire world. One person can’t be your entire world. You have to have your own passions, your own friends, your own time to yourself. I used to be super needy. Now we expect less of each other, and that allows us to give each other more somehow.”

A source has now told People that the pair have decided to go their separate ways.
