Pixie Lott admits she loving the best of both worlds as she juggles being a mother of two children under three years old with her successful music career
Pixie Lott has revealed exactly how her life as an artist has changed since becoming both a parent and a performer – and she admits she wouldn’t change a thing. The songstress, 35, has already been in the industry for two decades after first signing a deal aged just 15.
But she says her life has been made “a million times better” since welcoming her two kids, Bertie, two, and her second son, six months, whose name she hasn’t publicly shared. The musician gushes that she loves both aspects of her life, and knows how lucky she is to be able to have the best of both worlds.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Pixie said: “It’s a juggle with everything. Whenever I’m doing shows and different projects, I just bring them with me everywhere. It’s literally my life now, and I love it.

“It has changed things massively, but for the better. I love being with them every day and I feel really lucky that I’ve got my mum and dad’s support so that I can do that and they can come with me and help, and we just go on the road.”
She admits touring with a young family is “always crazy, but says it simply “adds to the fun”. She went on: “It can be unpredictable. You never know when they’re gonna nap or when they’re gonna need a nappy change. I’d say it adds to the fun of it.

“And Bert’s always loved being a part of the shows, and, being at the side of a stage and backstage and seeing how it all goes on. And it’s just second nature, I guess, because we’ve always done that as a family. I feel really lucky that I get to have them with me every day and all the time.”
And it’s music that Pixie says is the one thing she relies on as a mother. “It’s something that I rely on throughout daily life,” she confessed. “I guess my mothering style would be to incorporate music, so singing, dancing, rhythm, you can easily make drum beats out of anything, Can’t you?
“I think it’s definitely been like a bonding thing for us. And even if he accidentally has a bump on his head or falls over, when I’m cuddling him, I will always start singing. It’s just been a tool for me that has just helped loads in those situations. So I’m always singing, we’re always dancing.”
One tune that sticks in the family’s head is The Wipe Up Dance after Pixie teamed up with Water Wipes. She explained that the campaign has been so much fun. “You know, there’s always that never know how it’s going to go moment when it comes to young kids, so anything you can do to get them into the zone is amazing.
“This [The Wipe Up Song] just feels very normal for us and is part of our lives. Every day, we’re always singing and dancing in the kitchen.
Pixie is also getting ready to release her new tune Good Wife and has revealed her new music style hasn’t been “deliberate”. After heading to Nashville to work on her upcoming album, Pixie admitted that while it won’t necessarily all have a Country vibe, fans can expect the tunes to tell a story.
“I do love Country music,” she said, refusing to rule out ever creating an album in the genre. “But this is more, I guess, inspired, not specifically Country. I think it’s more in the storytelling aspect of writing.”
