On Wednesday, two men drowned off Frankston Pier after one of the men’s surfboard snapped and his friend jumped into wild seas in an attempt to save him.

The surfer was a 36-year-old British national who was learning to surf, and his friend was a 43-year-old man. Both men were residing in Frankston.
