Molly-Mae Hague has addressed why she doesn’t wear her engagement ring, and it appears she has no plans on putting it back on due to getting ‘the ick’ over her relationship status
Molly-Mae Hague has addressed her relationship after ditching her engagement ring. The Love Island star and Tommy Fury rekindled their romance in May last year following a brief split in August the previous year.
But while their relationship appears to be going from strength to strength, the influencer, 26, hasn’t been wearing her engagement ring. Now, in a fresh update, Hague has revealed she has no intentions of putting it back on – despite her commitment to boxer Fury, also 26.
The Mirror revealed in January last year that the pair were closer than ever after calling off their engagement for five months. But despite their relationship being stronger, Molly isn’t wearing her engagement ring, which reportedly cost Tommy £600,000.
“I’m not wearing my ring, and I don’t really wear my ring,” Molly told her YouTube subscribers. She went on to add: “Do you know what, I actually don’t plan to wear my ring either, guys. But I also do still consider myself engaged and a fiancée even though that does give me the ick a little bit.
“No, I don’t wear my ring, and it’s not for the reason of me not feeling like I’m engaged or not feeling like a fiancée. I just actually don’t want to wear it because it’s almost too special.”
Molly went on to explain that she doesn’t actually have the ring in her possession; instead, it’s “somewhere far away, locked away and very very safe,” adding that it is “too precious”.
But she is taking steps forward and said she was considering getting a new ring she could use every day. According to experts, the stunning oval-cut ring costs so much due to its “high colour and clarity”.
And the couple are in no rush to walk down the aisle either, with Tommy previously sharing an insight into any plans following their engagement in July 2023. Speaking on At Home With The Furys, Tommy’s older brother, Tyson, asked about marriage.
“What difference would it make now? We’ve got a baby together, we live together,” he said. And it appears Molly’s army of dedicated fans supports her decision not to wear her ring.
One wrote: “She shouldn’t have to explain to people why she’s not wearing her ring.” “I think it’s more she thinks it’s too valuable to wear every day, and given they’ve been burgled before, I don’t think that’s much of a surprise,” commented a second.
While a third penned: “I think it’s just too big for her and not practical! Probably very expensive as well, so doesn’t want to lose it or damage it.” But another disagreed and commented: “I feel like if you’re not excited to wear an ENGAGEMENT RING or WANT to wear it, then you are not with the right person. How can a ring be ‘too special’ wtf.”
The admission came after Tommy appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday and faced a grilling over his upcoming fight with Eddie Hall on June 13 at Manchester’s AO Arena. Molly and Tommy had already accidentally revealed that their second child is due on June 12.
“That’s a family matter,” he responded when grilled over the 24 hour turn around, adding: “We are dealing with that fantastically. Everything will be perfect and we will deal with that as a family, thank you.”
