The Pussycat Dolls are reportedly gearing up for a tour later this year, without three members, after Kimberly Wyatt revealed the group had faced ‘difficulties’
A huge Noughties girlband is set to reunite, but with a major twist. Nicole Scherzinger will reportedly reunite with her former Pussycat Dolls bandmates later this year for a huge tour.
In 2019, Scherzinger, along with Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta got back together for a short-lived reunion. They dropped their smash comeback hit, React, but their tour was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, before it was ultimately cancelled, Nicole confirming the cancellation and the reunion via an Instagram post citing “evolving circumstances,” which Kimberly found out about moments before going live on Dancing On Ice.
In 2021, it was claimed that Scherzinger was refusing to participate in the tour and was being sued by the Dolls’ founder, Robin Antin. The dispute was eventually settled in November 2024, with no further details being disclosed, while Nicole later confirmed she would consider another reunion.
But now, it’s claimed that there will be a tour later this year – but without Carmit, Jessica and fellow founding member, Melody Thornton, who was noticeably absent in 2019. “Nicole and the girls have been talking about getting Pussycat Dolls back together for months now,” a source said.
They went on to tell The Sun: “Covid scuppered the original plan and then disagreements behind the scenes meant it all fell apart. But Nicole, Ashley and Kimberly are a solid unit, and they’re raring to go; they are due to meet up in London tonight to iron out the finer details and toast the deal for the tour, which is set to be announced in the coming weeks.”
Last year, Kimberly revealed to The Mirror that getting her bandmates on the same page was “difficult”. She said: “I’ve got a documentary which could be made if the girls want to do it. But getting women all on the same page is a difficult task. I can’t help but always try because I love it.”
“There’s so much to unpack,” she said. But it’s not just the Dolls’ chart success which Kimberly is proud of; instead, it was the decade of hard work to prove themselves, often performing at bars in Los Angeles. “With the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson, there’s just so many people that would come and be a part of the dolls,” she gushed.
“I’m so proud, Pussycat Doll once, Pussycat Doll for life,” she exclaimed, adding: “I’ve had the most amazing experiences meeting so many brilliant people around the world.
“And to now be on Hits Radio every Sunday, DJ’ing, I have my DJ dance show called Don’t You Disco, with dancers and choreography, playing Pussycat Dolls tunes.
“I still meet, especially at pride events, people whose lives were changed because of the Dolls, they’ve been in tears, because it helped them feel seen,” she said of their legacy, before continuing to say: “They could have the confidence that maybe life didn’t always allow them to feel that they could be.
“So that makes me really proud to have felt that maybe I made a difference to get my stilettos on, get my leg up in the air and singing songs like Don’t Cha and React.”
A spokesperson for the Pussycat Dolls declined to comment.
