Rajinikanth Shares Rare Photo With Wife And Daughters On Diwali, Wishes Fans Outside His House

Superstar, Rajinikanth has once again grabbed the attention of all his fans, this time not with a film or upcoming project, but for a rare, special and heartfelt family moment. Rajinikanth is one of the most loved, respected and celebrated actors in the Indian cinema, who is known for hit films like Annaamalai, Jailer, Robot, Coolie, Kabali and more. Despite having an amazing professional life, he has always managed to keep his personal life private. But, recently, on the occasion of Diwali, the superstar shared a post with his wife and daughters. 

Rajinikanth’s rare family photo

On October 20, 2025, Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya took to her Instagram handle to share a rare photo from her Diwali celebrations along with her family. In the first photo, Rajinikanth is seen sitting on a sofa with his wife, while their two daughters were standing behind them, with their hands on their parents’ shoulders. The superstar was in a white vesti and kurta. The second photo posted by Soundarya, featured her and her sister with a sparkler. She captioned the post as:

“Wishing you all a very Happy Deepavali.”

Rajinikanth met his fans on the morning of Diwali

Along with Rajinikanth‘s rare appearance with his family, a lot of fans got the chance to wish him in person as well. Reportedly, several ‘Thalaiva’ fans had gathered outside the superstar’s residence at Poes Garden in Chennai on October 20, 2020, to wish him for Diwali. And thanks to their luck, the Robot actor stepped out in a simple white vesti and kurta, and greeted the crowd with folded hands, waves and kisses. He gracefully accepted all the wishes and gifts from his well-wishers. A video of the same was shared on social media platforms. 

Rajinikanth’s iconic film, Annaamalai to re-release on his birthday

On October 18, 2025, Rakesh Gowthaman of Vettri Theatres took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to share a poster of Rajinikanth’s film, Annaamalai. Along with it, he announced that the film will release worldwide in theatres in 4K Ultra format on Rajinikanth’s birthday, which is on December 12, 2025. For the unversed, the film was released in 1992, and for OTT lovers, the film is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.

Rajinikanth was born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on December 12, 1950. Before entering the film industry, he worked various odd jobs, including as a coolie and a bus conductor with the Bangalore Transport Service. He began his acting career with supporting roles and then slowly transitioned into lead roles. Some of his iconic films include Moondru Mudichu, Billa, Baashha, Annaamalai, Muthu, Sivaji, Jailer, Robot and more. 

In his amazing career, he has been awarded with Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Talking about his personal life, Rajinikanth is married to Latha Parthasarathy and the couple has two daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya. Aishwarya was married to actor, Dhanush, but the duo parted ways in 2024. Soundarya is married to Vishagan Vanangamudi.
