Rajkummar Rao Opens Up On Hair Loss Rumours After His New Look Sparks Debate, ‘Not A Believer..’

The much-loved Bollywood actor, Rajkummar Rao is currently grabbing attention as he recently sparked a major debate on social media, after he appeared at the Bolti Khidkiyaan Short Film Festival. His photos and videos from the same concerned fans as the actor looked very different. Some fans even raised questions on his thinning hair line. Well, now the Maalik actor opened up about the same and revealed the real reason behind his changed appearance.

Rajkummar Rao breaks silence on hair loss rumours

On February 16, 2026, Rajkummar Rao took to his Instagram handle to address the concerns of his fans. The Newton actor shared a long post on his social media handle, in which he revealed that he is perfectly fine and the real reason behind his changed appearance and thin hair line is nothing but the preparation of a film. He explained that his upcoming film, Nikam demand some transformation. He also stated that since he is not a believer in prosthetics, he is physically undergoing the changes. A part of his note can be read as:

“My being is through my Art. Just finished shooting for my next biopic #NIKAM and yes, it has demanded me to change physically which I love doing. I’m not a believer in prosthetic as long as I can achieve the look through my hardwork which I’ve achieved in Nikam be it gaining weight or looking old (to play a certain age) or to make my hair thin which my hair stylist was very much against but everyone told me to not go half bald for Bose also and to gain that much weight or to not stop eating and lose so much weight for Trapped or to not behave like a visually impaired person even when cameras weren’t rolling during Srikanth.”

Further, Rajkummar Rao explained that for his role in Nikam, he had to gain around 9-10 kgs, but now that the film is completed, he is preparing for his upcoming film, which is going to be a biopic of Sourav Ganguly. Rajkummar concluded the note by requesting his fans to watch both his films, so that they can see the amount of hard work he has put in. His note can be read as:

“For Nikam I had to gain around 9-10 kgs and I was eating 2 pizzas and lot of sweets and my fav Aloo Parathas, Biryani and to not use anything glam to look like the part. Hopefully when you will see the film which will be releasing soon you will be able to see all that hardwork in the film. And now it’s the transition phase and time to lose these extra kgs and get ready to slip into Ganguly mode. Our very own Dada. Will always work the hardest to engage you, entertain you through my work. Much Love.”

What to expect from Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming films?

Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film, Nikam is a biopic of a well known prosecutor, Ujjwal Nikam. The film is directed by Avinash Arun and produced under the banner of Maddock Films. The film is expected to release in late 2026. Reportedly, it will also star Wamiqa Gabbi. On the other hand, Rajkummar Rao will also star in the biopic of cricketer, Sourav Ganguly. The film is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. If reports are to be believed then the shooting of the same will begin soon.
